jerrodmonaghan Posted May 2, 2017 Report Posted May 2, 2017 Anyone have recommendations for Mooney CFI in Houston? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Geoff Posted May 2, 2017 Report Posted May 2, 2017 Jerrod, What do you need? I'm not a CFI (yet), but it would help to know what your goal is... Quote
jerrodmonaghan Posted May 2, 2017 Author Report Posted May 2, 2017 I need someone with Mooney time to help me shake it down... I was so excited to get a Mooney I ran out and bought one before even having my Private. My CFI from West Houston got a job with an airline and I feel like I'm back at square one. Throw in a bunch of "life" in the mix and I'm struggling to be a Mooney owner. It's not my planes fault I was so rookie and immature. I have 20 hours on my plane in 16 months.... I want to get her up in the air and shake out all the items before she gets to Don Maxwell in June. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
N252WD Posted May 2, 2017 Report Posted May 2, 2017 I was told Mark has alot of Mooney time and will teach on his time off. He is around Houston. Mark Johnson 832-773-4409 mjohnsonf16@hotmail.com 1 Quote

Yetti Posted May 3, 2017 Report Posted May 3, 2017 So you need to finish your private? Where are you in the training? Your plane needs what? Quote
carusoam Posted May 3, 2017 Report Posted May 3, 2017 (edited) I highly recommend Byron. 1) Flys one of the nicest and fastest M20Js. 2) Has some really deep technical skills regarding mechanical repair of Mooneys. 3) Gave me some flying experience while knocking the rust off in my O. Precision Xcountry experience. 4) He also flys some larger planes like B737 or B747 or something similar. 5) He is in Houston! PP thoughts that come to mind. Best regards, -a- Edited May 3, 2017 by carusoam 1 Quote
clh Posted May 3, 2017 Report Posted May 3, 2017 +1 on Byron. He really knows the mechanical aspects of Mooneys as well. Quote
Greg_D Posted May 3, 2017 Report Posted May 3, 2017 You'd do well with Byron or Mark. But mark lives at Dry Creek, which is just about a stone's throw from Dan Jones International Airport. Quote
jetdriven Posted May 4, 2017 Report Posted May 4, 2017 (edited) Mark is a very good cfi. I've flown with him before. His neighbor Tom bush may also be available. Edited May 4, 2017 by jetdriven 1 Quote
