Bushings can’t be bought in the correct length? This should work and you save shipping by buying both at the same time.

Probably wouldn't even need to be brass. For $1 each, this should work:

My vote for best edit of the year.  :)  Thanks.  I ordered these and will be sending back the home depot (sawing project) bushings.  Scott

Maybe an ignorant question.   I searched through this thread and it doesn't seem to have been discussed.

What log book entry is required if owner produced seat rollers are installed?   Is that something that requires an A&P sign off?

Any OPP part requires documentation from the producer (e.g., you) commemorating the production, and then a record from the installer indicating that it is suitable for installation and correctly installed.   Whether a seat roller falls under Preventive Maintenance and can be installed by the owner is kind of grey since the FAA says the list of PM tasks in the regs is "not comprehensive".   My usual advice is that if your IA is good with it then there should be no issue.

Yeah, when I reupholstered my seats with the Airtex set, that's when I also replaced the rollers.  My AI entered the Airtex seats and really liked the nylon rollers but didn't see a need to mention them.

Hopefully, this helps complete this thread, it’s been a good one. I received the spacers and felt the slop was too much for me. So, I placed an index mark on the edge of the spacer where the tape began and found out that 3 revolutions of 3M Super33 black tape (used also for the Britain servos) created a very snug fit. I inserted the spacer by twisting the spacer into the roller and then trimmed off the excess tape. I haven’t installed the rollers yet but look forward to the improvement.

It's too soon to know the longevity of the rollers I installed. The tracks are clean and the seats roll with ease. I like the idea of a metal bushing making contact with the bolt vs. just the molded part but it might not matter because how often are the seats being moved up and down the tracks? I would think the weight of the person in the seat impacts the roller's longevity most.
