My best plane, my best girl, and my best car, probably don't get loaned out. Some situations are just too difficult to fathom. Best regards, I I'll let y'all know what I decide, I'm still thinking on it. Maybe if I ride along I will feel better with it, my instructor has pretty good judgment and I don't believe he'd just let any jack leg in my plane. 1 Quote

JKSmith Posted October 12, 2016 Author Report Posted October 12, 2016 Just a update, we've agreed not to use the mooney. No hard feelings and what not he completely understands my concerns. I wanted to be sure with you all that i wasn't wrong for my worry, and I wanted to see if letting a friend do what he's requesting was a common or unusual request. I'm new to aircraft ownership and the friends I've made are the few friends I have in the flight club and all of you on mooney space, I appreciate the help and input it means a lot to have a good network of mooney owners and pilots to share their experiences and recommendations hopefully I'll be of some help one day haha Quote
carusoam Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 JK, it is possible to edit the title of a post. If you are interested and going back... They used to be set in stone. But now they are open to the originator, I believe... Best regards, -a- Quote
cnoe Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 No! That would irreparably harm the vibe of this thread. Poor Rick. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1 Quote

Jeff_S Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 This is what you get when you loan your plane to someone else: catastrophe We'll see how many of you get that! 1 Quote
Hank Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Was he a One Hit Wonder? Still don't make the airplane connection . . . Quote
Jeff_S Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Y'all need to catch up on your internet practical jokes. That one was called "getting Rick-rolled." It was my first thought when I saw the OP's subject line, that he might be playing a joke on us. Oh well, just thought I'd have some fun! 2 Quote
TheTurtle Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 the guy i sublet my hangar from is on my insurance and allowed to fly my plane a few days a month. Im making him fly with my instructor for 5 hours minimum to get his complex chops back but the guy has 6000 hours so Im not to worried. Besides getting a hangar at john wayne is pretty much worth the risk. Now my wife or my dog or my money you better not touch Oh, and my tools, and my 72 chevy. Quote

Yes he is. My thought is, just because I'm a good fixed wing pilot that doesn't make me a good helo pilot. Maybe it goes both ways Quote
Bob_Belville Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 An airplane, even a nice one, is just "stuff". 2 Quote
