Ben E. Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 Hi Guys, I'm getting ready to buy my first airplane and have decided to get a Mooney (probably a M20C). I'm in the NYC area and fly out of KCDW. Do any of you have a Mooney Service Center in the NYC area (NJ, PA, NY, or CT) that you can recommend for a prebuy and potentially annuals and maintenance going forward? I know C & W Aero Services at KCDW is a MSC, but the reviews I found online weren't flattering. Thanks, Ben Quote

Just confirming. Yes, I've always had good experiences with Air-Mods (specifically always deal with Shane). I drop in there a lot as it is close to my father. If I ever need anything, it is attended to very quickly. Once when I only had time to drop in to see my father for the day, I was about 20 miles out one of my EGT/CHT went extremely high and then was bouncing all over. It was the probe of course, and by the time I was halfway to my dad's (15 minute Uber cab ride), they had already troubleshot the issue and called me to let me know. By the end of the day, a new probe was in place and back in business. Sure, not needed to fly back home, but helped with peace of mind. The E I bought was technically owned by one of the mechanics there, not specifically Air-Mods. It has been performing very well since. For the PPI, I used a Mooney savvy A&P in the region who was very accommodating. I'd be glad to share name if someone needs that. Just PM me of course. Regards, Lance Quote

FloridaMan Posted June 10, 2016 Report Posted June 10, 2016 There's one at Republic who got me out of a bind years ago, though I can't testify as to how they'd be for a PPI Quote
