Weber, AirMods, and C&W…

generally get good reviews for the work done…

Real estate cost probably makes a difference in pricing…

C&W lives in the modern world…

Weber is in PA

AirMods is in the garden part of the garden state….

Best regards,

@rbp Interesting.  When I called C&W two or three times and left messages, they never called me back and as a personal rule of thumb, I don't chase business to take my money.

@carusoam I learned to fly out of CDW at Mac Dan ages ago when they had one of the biggest fleets in the region.  It's too bad I can't get anyone at C&W to call me back.

Thank you both!

Any recent reviews on either Henry Weber or Air Mods?

I've use AirMods since they were back at Old Bridge.  Highly recommend them.

Pre Y2K?

Before I owned a plane…

Just picked up my J from Weber yesterday from the annual. They do good work. Not a bargain basement price, but well worth it in my book. They know their Mooneys, and are easy to work with in my experience.

Now ya went and made me look it up!!!!

First time was May 1998.  Prior to that I had been using a guy at DXR, but then he moved on and I discovered Air Mods.

And now I have to start the search all over again, I've moved out to WA.

C&W has a full-time receptionist who answers the phone. Her name is Beth. Are you sure you dialed the right number?

"pricing" is not just the total invoice cost. Add distance/fuel, cost for car for dropoff/pickup, return trips for squawks, downtime, inability to get someone on the phone to answer simple questions like 'should i be worried about X'?

I believe so, but that's always a possibility.  I got all my info on the Mooney Authorized Service Center website.  C&W's phone was listed there.  The number was ending in 5750.

I wouldn't trust that list.  I doubt if anyone is looking after the web site right now.

Thanks.  Leave it to Mooney to not keep it current.  I checked on CDW Airport's website and it has the same number listed and cwaero.com redirects to an architectural company's homepage.  Not really sure what to make of that.

I think they are working hard just to keep the lights on.  We are better off with availability of parts and factory service than a web site.

In my opinion, Henry Weber, in Lancaster, PA rocks for safety and peace of mind.  That's why I fly from Las Vegas all the way to Lancaster, PA to get my annuals done.   I've had too many dangerous close calls over the years with defective maintenance done at various other "Mooney Service Centers".   Never again.  Safety is too important.

Spokane

Im in Spokane as well.  I have a hangar as Felts and have used NW Flight Service for about 6 years (Pete Reed is the main IA, but there are two others there).  I like them a lot.  Reasonable about what they do, how they do it. They aren’t mooney specific (Cirrus is their bread and butter), but Pete is very knowledgeable.  Book early because they are busy.  If owner assisted is your thing, they’ve been receptive to me saving some money by pulling and reinstalling all my inspection and belly panels, but I would never say they are “cheap”.  Fair, yes, but they have a nice big hanger, parts manager, 3 IAs, etc.

I've got NWFS on my list from some earlier research.  Glad to hear another recommendation for them.

My planes is in for interior right now, so won't be here for a while.  But still trying to find a spot.  I've got a lead that I hope works out.

Just picked up the airplane from Weber and was very happy with the service and experience.  A couple of unexpected squawks but that's what airplanes give you.  I intend to bring it back next year.  Thanks again, everyone!
