Mooneymite Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 This looks like it's custom made for the Mooney.... Or this: http://www.tna-aviation.com/#!sm-3-0-33000/c7e
DXB Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 Ha! Someone stop the ferrile Roomba from stealing that Pilatus. 1
peevee Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 works great... until there's 1/4" of snow on the ramp

If it was a Roomba, everyone on the ramp would be in trouble! Those things are just plain out of contol! Edited January 22, 2016 by Mooneymite

A: Yes. It works fine in light snow and even ice. Yes to the rain, just don't submerge it. The electronics are in the top of the tug and you want to keep those dry. https://acairtechnology.com/home.aspx Edited January 21, 2016 by Mooneymite
ArtVandelay Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 Reminds of when I played golf with a guy with one of those automatic electric carts to carry your bag, as I was asking him about it the cart turn a bit too sharp and it missed the bridge and went onto the creek. I'll pass, thx
Bennett Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 There is a large twin in the hangar directly across from my hangar that has one of these. Great toy, and fun to watch the owner guide his airplane in and out of his hangar using an iPhone (could be an Android smartphone) to control the device. He sure upstages my RoboTow. Not sure I would want one, even if I could afford it.

Mooneymite Posted January 21, 2016 Author Report Posted January 21, 2016 I know a Global operator who bought the large version of this because there wasn't room in the hangar for a conventional tug to pull the Global in. It is pretty scary to see a 60 million dollar plane being moved about by something like a Roomba! 2
Mooneymite Posted January 21, 2016 Author Report Posted January 21, 2016 Just now, peevee said: light snow, a dusting at best. You question the veracity of a sales brochure? Certainly they'd never stretch the truth! 1

Oscar Avalle Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 I like it... although very expensive.
DAVIDWH Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Seems a little light in the high tech. area. I would add a spray bar and rear scraper so the hangar could be cleaned at the same time. Roomba got it right.
aviatoreb Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 I saw one of those in action moving a gulfstream G3 I think it was, at Reading in PA. It was very impressive and looked like lots of fun.
Brandontwalker Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 We have some pretty savvy folks on this board. We need to put our heads together to figure out how to build one of these. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
