instrument lighting issue

Glare shield lights work great. Instrument lights not working other than manifold pressure, TIT and RPM. Any help to get the others working would be great. I am not sure if they all are lit since they haven't worked since I bought plane but I know at least the GI 106A is supposed to be lit but doesn't work. Perhaps a wiring issue? Has to replace 5a to get the TIT, RpM and Mp lighting on. Plane is a 231.

I assume the 5a you replaced is the funny fuse under the rheostat knob. Then checked the rheostat switch and confirmed it is functioning properly with the instrument lights that are working. After that, it is a matter of tracing the wiring to the individual lights. Since you have a bunch not working, it is most likely the failure is nearer the rheostat, so I would start on that end, rather than starting at an individual instrument. If you have a wiring diagram, you may find where the wires go through a plug connection, which would be an ideal place to find a problem. If you don't have the diagram, PM me.
