Banjo has been around here for a long time.  He is not just showing up to sell a plane.

Essentially that puts the situation into the trust, but verify category. Can it get any better than that when buying used stuff from a private individual?

One additional challenge is the plane is in the US, but the owner is a world traveler with his roots in Australia.

You may want to contact him directly through a PM.  He may be in the US with his plane?

Best regards,

anyone in the Chicago / NW Indiana area want to consider a partnership on this one? Get it IFR certified and put in a Garmin 430?

Welcome to the Forum. Hope you stick around for awhile. Good luck on setting up a partnership journey.

it 'might' be a gift......you never know lol.  "'64" is a little scary to me, although if it's been well maintained, yadda yadda.....does anyone know of an MSC in Arkansas?  I might send banjo a PM....does anyone have any experience with this fellow (or the plane)?  not sure if that's against the MS rules or not, if so please disregard.  I do see 2 gear ups listed, but that was a long time ago.

There is a recent, extremely long thread on "Do I need a PPI" or some such.

Read it. Return and check out this E based on what you learn.

If this plane is in Arkansas, I'd take it to Maxwell for a pre-buy. He can't be more than about 30 Mooney minutes from anywhere in AR.

weather is looking nice in Arkansas this weekend but commercial ticket prices are crazy.  if I could have found a good deal I would have liked to check it out.

Well after 3 months my plane had its 1st inspection.

The comments have been interesting.

like because it's so cheap there must be something wrong with it

well l can fix that, lm going to put the price up to $42,000 and l guess as soon as l get back from Singapore L'll advertise it on plane sites

but does anybody know what V ref is?

the last comment was its price is over the V ref price.

Had this aircraft been for sale while I was looking it would have sold long ago.  Only reason I didn't jump on it is I have an airplane already. Good luck with the sale.

Banjo:

I'm actively looking for a Mooney and I use a blended value based on the following:

AOPA Vref, The NAAA Valuation Tool on Trade-A-Plane and Mooneyflyer.com

The difficult thing about your plane is that it is highly modified to suit your particular needs, it's obvious you spared no expense making the plane both beautiful to behold, and well suited for YOUR mission.  The aircraft is highly individualized by the mods you have selected and their value to a seller not easily determined.  Therefore, fair market value is difficult to estimate with common online evaluation tools.

The trick will be to find just the RIGHT person who wants a 1964 E model Mooney modified in exactly the same way.  Mooneyspace seemed like the ideal venue to me and I'm surprised it is still available.

Personally, I require a solid autopilot, dual nav/comms, a DME or GPS and a low to mid-time engine (The IO-360 is expensive to overhaul).

Here are the values I have arrived at, but bear in mind that the mods have NOT been calculated into the prices.

Vref= $22,862 - NAAA = $29,160 - Mooneyflyer = $29,650

Based on this it seems to me your asking price is reasonable given all of the mods, IF the right person were to see it.

I think it's a great looking E priced right.

How is the spar cap?  I may have missed it if mentioned earlier

If it's a 64 does that mean the shorter vs full span rudder?

If anyone is looking at a C or E look at this one!

I persnally looked at a 1964 E in 2007, N1287X, and did not move forward with the purchase.  When I saw N1297X, I did a double take just to make sure it wasn't the same plane updated - it's not, but boy was it close!

This aircraft has had one person so far look at it and said he liked it very much but hasn't bought it,
