Perfect weather prevailed (not a cloud in the sky) for 22 Mooneys to show up for the Page AZ fly-in. Quite a gathering. All types from a wood wing on. Several virgin attendees showed up never having been to a Mooney fly-in before.

Friday nite had 24 folks gather at a local watering hole for food and drink.

Saturday more planes arrived and lunch was served in the hangar at American Aviation (who took great care of us AND gave us a fuel discount too boot!) at 12 Noon sharp (well 12:08)

Hot rotisserie chicken, potato and mac salad. cold drinks and cookies for 40 some folks.

After the bellies were filled the maintenance seminar started and ran for almost 4 hrs.

Rules of the road for Preventative Maintenance, torque wrenches, safety wire practice (graded!), TCDS introduction, spark plug servicing, oil filters and oil changes, hands on look at gear preload checking, a/c jacking procedures, leveling the a/c, a/c lubrication, tail hinge and jackscrew wear and checking, control surface throws and spring bungee servicing, tire changes and more were covered, all while climbing over and under a subject a/c.

Saturday night almost 30 showed up for a Mexican dinner at the local restaurant.

Some folks partook of the Antelope Slot Canyon  tour, walked to view Horseshoe Bend (opening scene of the John Wayne movie, Red River), went to see the dinosaur museum and more.

Sunday was departure day with Mooneys leaving all day long.

Farthest to travel to the party was over 700 miles!

If you missed it you missed a grand time with good friends and great airplanes.

Glad you had a great turn out Cliff. Although I didn't make it, we had a great time at the first one back in 2009; especially the Antelope Canyon trip and the rafting trip. You were a great host then too. This summer we returned to raft the entire Grand Canyon and had a great time and a bucket list trip.

Pics from the AMAZING fly-in in Lake Powell, hosted by Cliff Biggs...

The location and the fun times were tons of fun...

But the best part was a 4 hour "Hands-On" Maintaing Your Mooney seminar.

He had our hands on for changing tires, checking/cleaning/gapping plugs, adjusting the landing gear with gear rigging tools, checking and adjusting the angles on the elevator and bungees, proper jacking techniques, and way more.  Several of us learned the correct way to safety wire... especially our oil filters...

Cliff is an amazing A&P, and a tremendous teacher.  A HUGE THANK YOU from 30 Mooney Owners.

Looks like an amazing event-sadly too far for me.  Glad there are experienced folks like this great gentleman out there with willingness to teach the rest of us!

Could you do it again this weekend? I wish I could of made it! I was trying to move my Colorado trip to tie it all together. I fly over Page all the time. Obama's visit to San Diego shut down my airport, my neighborhood (the golf course he played at) and being unable to move my Colorado obligation, I couldn't make it. Hopefully you do it again!

In regards to Obama, what a motorcade! I was brushing my teeth in my bathroom and out my window I saw a never ending line of motorcycles and black SUV's driving by on the way to the club house. Its amazing the volume of people and law enforcement that accompanies him.

One more to pile on to the cliffy bandwagon. He did a great job on the maintenance seminar.
