Oshkosh 2015

Just a quick tally of who's going this year.

NotarPilot and I are flying my Bravo and jerry-N5911Q is flying his plane and meeting us in Appleton.

We'll be there Sunday night through Wednesday night and departing Appleton on Thursday morning.

We'd like to meet up with all the MooneySpace people we've read and conversed with so I hope everyone goes.

Does anyone know what time the BBQ starts on Sunday evening? Scratch that question - I just realized the BBQ is on Tuesday night.

We'll probably land in Appleton around 4 PM on Sunday but if they're serving at 5 PM I doubt we'll make it in time to eat. We'll try to make the "Sober society...."

Also, has anyone arranged any sort of tags with people's MooneySpace name on it? It would be nice to put a face with a screen name! See you Monday night at the MooneySpace Social Gathering.

It's almost like the festivities have already begun  .

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

Dave

We plan on flying in on Wend morning, and leaving on Friday morning.  I will be flying my 1953 Pacer not my 1967 M20F.   I hope to meet some of you mooney guys, and I will be looking for a mite to look at while at KOSH this year.

I'll be there this Thursday through the following Saturday. Unfortunately, I ran out of time to get my cowling completed so the airplane won't make it this year. I'll be bringing up the components for my kit if anyone wants to see what they look like.

Thanks,

David

Anyone else worried about a repeat of Sloshkosh 2010?

There won't be another Sloshkosh this year, even if it rains a lot. In 2010 we had a lot of snow the previous winter and a lot of rain in the spring and summer so the ground was saturated and the large amount of rain in the last few days before the show just had nowhere to go, resulting in a highly unusual level of flooding.

This year, we've had a pretty normal precipitation year, in fact just a hair drier than average. So, the rain will soak into the ground just fine. :)

I always call it Sloshkosh because of the amount of Booze consumed!  I'll be venturing to the beer tent with the yellow smiley face near the entrance until the main exodus happens after the airshow everyday.

Rain or shine, I'll be there smiling because it's heaven no matter what.

Thanks for the heads up. I still have time to make that anonymous phone call to Port Huron Border Patrol to let them know about a suspicious plane arriving from Canada. ;)

I'm so jealous! I'm sitting here looking at a stupid PowerPoint presentation...what's a guy need to do to win the lottery around here?

I am totally pooched getting out of Eastern Ontario towards Madison today because of weather.  Stuff happens.

Looks like a sparrow fart departure tomorrow may be possible getting into Detroit near 10:00 am and then into Madison near noon.

Plan C is a Fisk arrival into KOSH at the same time as the Caravan (11:00 am) so I can at least park with the others.

Oh well.   Stuff happens.

Yeah, we decide not to depart, it is a pissoff to pack everything in the plane, take out of the hanger, gas and just make a final decision, but better be on ground wishing you were in the air then being in the air and wishing you were on the ground.

Hoping for a very very early departure tomorrow morning.

Weather looks like it will enable departure for you guys tomorrow. IFR might be needed to get over the forecasted low overcast. It might raise up later after the morning.

VFR OTT is another option.

Madison weather is very nice now:
