Seth
The Eagle and Ovation are both great airplanes. I fly the baby Ovation in the Missile - 300 HP on a J airframe. George an other Eagle and Ovation drivers can tell you that for some reason the sealant was not "great" during the time period Eagles were produces 1999-2002. Weep no more has seen a lot of Eagles come through needing reseals where many planes older had their sealant last longer. During a prebuy, see if it's been revealed. If not, odds are it will need a reseal before your current bird. Great plane. -Seth
mike_elliott
I knew I would be pleased with the feedback on this topic from everyone. In summary, it basically sounds like an Eagle with the 310 hp STC will essentially be almost identical to an Ovation except for overhead switches (maybe), insulation/spundproofing (maybe), basic white paint, cloth interior if not upgraded and no built in O2 if not upgraded. If the STC has not been done then the Eagle 1 will have less climb performance, while the Eagle 2 with the 3 blade prop will be a little better, but both not as good as an Ovation, but certainly better than the MSE I fly now. I am most interested in better climb performance and less concerned with an extra 5 knots in cruise. I want a long body to accomodate the growing family, even if it is only an inch or two extra legroom in the rear seats. Thank you, Zeke for a minute, I thought this was Zeke and Elizabeth, selling their beautiful MSE "Songbird", until I see the growing family reason. What are the chances, 2 Zekes owning MSE's?
