Does anyone know how to set the time on the panel clock/timer pictured below? It is in an '97 Encore.

The mode button toggles it between the clock/timer mode. The other two buttons control the start/stop and reset functions on the timer. I have tried different combinations of holding or pressing multiple buttons trying to get it into a mode to set the current time with no success.

See if I remember - Hold down the 'Clear' button until display flashes - press 'Start/Stop' to select 12 or 24h, then Clear to select hours, 'start/stop' to adjust, then 'clear' to select minutes then finally 'Mode' to lock it in.

Bill,

Do you have access to the POH?

It is in Section VII - Systems...

The first system they cover is the clock....

Push and hold the clear button for 4-5 seconds... To initiate settings function...

Then use start button to select what you want to change...

Then use clear button to make the change

Then use mode button to exit settings function.

There are two types of clocks. The one you show is like mine, typical early model O...

Hope that helps...

Thanks, I now have the correct time set! The generic POH for 252's does not mention the clock. I need to look again in the POH specific for that airplane.

Thanks again for the help

Time for me to replace my clock...

Mine doesn't look as good as Bill's!

Missing some LCD segments if you have any ideas...

The LCDs started to dissapear as they aged...

The location of the clock is a bit shallow limiting replacement choices.

The nice unique windows cut in the panel add to the challenge.

I'll have to look up some details to see what replacement options can be...

I have similar clock in '97 MSE. LCD color is gray. Very hard to read. Especially at night. I just found MD93 clock/USB charger online. Doesn't appear it will fit though without panel work.

Yes, it looks the same as the photo. 12V? I have 24V system. I couldn't find make/model of clock in POH

Thanks for the tip. I've owned N1084L for 10 years and have been cussing that clock the whole time.

Yes, a 12V bulb is what it is. I bet there's a resistor somewhere in the circuit to stop in popping (and I too flew for ages not realising that it needed a bulb or two)

I was able to remove the burned out bulb but must have broken off part of the base that holds the bulb in the round hole in the clock. The bulb I bought at the auto parts store would not fit. Do you have a part number for the correct bulb?
