I had my avionics shop install a new (to me) PM8000b audio panel, and while it seems to work fine, I can hear a hum in the headsets when I cycle the gear.

In a way, I consider this a nice feature as it's one more way to know *something* is happening with the gear, but I never heard this on my previous intercom...so I wonder if something isn't grounded right??  My avionics guy said this is a side-effect of a high-end audio panel, but I'm not exactly convinced.

Anyone else experience this?

My gear moves quick enough that I can't really recall hearing a hum. Seems like I do hear the motor run, and of course I feel the gear thump, especially coming up under me. Hum in the headset? Not so sure.

Only thing I hear is the satisfying 'click' as the Johnson bar snaps into place. And I don't hear it through my audio panel! (Sorry, I'll shut up now.). :)
