DonMuncy Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 I just got a catalog today from Home Healthcare Today, which has pulse oximeters for $19.50 or deluxe models for $23.50. The only difference I can see is the deluxe has fancier read-out options. med@applied-inc.com 888-327-7301. It really irks me that I paid somewhere around $150 for mine 10 years or so ago. Quote
Wakeup Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 I bought one on Amazon for around $20 with free shipping but have not tried it out yet. Side note:: Has anyone seen or used the pulse oximeter app for the iPhone. I noticed it at the Apple store for $100. Troy Quote
Danb Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 Don at least at these cheaper prices there's no reason not to have two of them.. Quote
DonMuncy Posted January 31, 2015 Author Report Posted January 31, 2015 As a matter of fact, I bought me a spare when they dropped to an unbelievable $30 or so. Quote
Bob_Belville Posted February 1, 2015 Report Posted February 1, 2015 I only paid about $20 at the local drug store a couple of years ago... came with a lanyard which hangs from the rear view mirror. With the fuzzy dice. Quote
DrBill Posted February 1, 2015 Report Posted February 1, 2015 Mine was $20 2 years ago on sale at ALDI (first noticed here on the group). I checked it for accuracy with the pro ones at the Cardio Rehab clinic I had to go to after my heart attack in July.. EXACTLY SAME READINGS. Bill Quote
Mooneymite Posted February 1, 2015 Report Posted February 1, 2015 I was looking for a oximeter with an audible alarm. I don't want to have to figure out what the numbers mean while I'm going hypoxic. Unfortunately, the only models I could find were in the $250 range! Seems like there's a market opportunity for someone. Anyone know of a "cheapie" with an alarm? Quote

Check these ones out, they work great with audible alarm, and at 100$, they even have a usb wire finger holder for kids, so you can have the scanner on the the person's finger but the display is in front of you... It also saves the data to look at later... http://www.clinicalguard.com/oximeters-for-sale-p-89.html?osCsid=81cf9da6d3e9e151608df42f898fa25c Quote
rocketman Posted February 1, 2015 Report Posted February 1, 2015 Don - be thankful your were able to purchase these life saving devices for $150 years ago. They were worth as much at that time as they are for $20 today. Great investment! Quote
carusoam Posted February 1, 2015 Report Posted February 1, 2015 There is a free heart rate app for the iPhone... Works in a similar way. Light source and sensor on the finger... I am not familiar with %O2 being part of the app. Best regards, -a- Quote
N33GG Posted February 1, 2015 Report Posted February 1, 2015 Don...don't feel bad. They were $250 when the first hit the market...don't ask me how I know! Quote
Wakeup Posted February 3, 2015 Report Posted February 3, 2015 Just imagine what is was like to not have Pulse Oximerty in the operating room. It wasn't that long ago. We just went by if the patient was blue or not to determine their oxygenation. Scary!! Troy Quote
