Beautifully insane!

So the screen below your ADI in the old pic went TU? (King EHSI?)

I liked flying the g500 in a Legacy for a while! At the time, 2011, Garmin had not released the protocalls for it to work with the true trac sorcerer AP. The bug and preslect functions would not link to the AP. However, Testing the terrain mode at 250 TAS was fun.

Enjoy!

Yup the King EHSI died, cost $14,000 to replace with a serviceable unit, with a good chance that it would not last long either.  So, figured it was a good time to upgrade the panel.

Funny how that math works. Unreliable $14k device replaced with $38k of "reliable" stuff. Used the same logic with the wife when the MX-170B failed. Don't know how many years I will still be able to get away with it. ;)

If it will help, tell your financial advisor (aka your wife in most cases) that someone on the Mooney forum told you those Garmin GPSs are now obsolete and have been replaced with the GTN 750 and 650 -- and that your risking everything flying behind what you have. ;)
