The whelen lower belly strobe bulb went bad on my Mooney and now i'm trying to decide if i should replace the A469B strobe tube assy or just remove it completely because i have the wing tip strobes that meet the requirements of the belly strobe. replacement costs are less then $80.00 but removing the strobe could add a knot or two to my airspeed......throwing it out there, what would you do?

And you won't blind others around you at night while taxiing with your wingtip strobes on. (Like the Cirrus guys do.)

And you'll have a backup anti-collision light for redundancy.

My A&P was replacing a couple switch/breakers today(47yrs old) on the fuel pump an strobe. Strobe popped a couple times after new switch installed an died.......Looks like a new belly strobe is in my future. Have no wingtip strobes.

Chris McClung@McClung Aviation says we are going to put a High output Whelen...... Are they any good? Never been around their products.

I used to have an old high voltage Whelen. It became intermittent, with a nice bright 500 V flash whenever it felt like it, be it 3 seconds or 5 minutes after the previous flash. Replaced it with a Whelen LED that fit the same hole, and used the same painted trim ring from the old one. It's about a third the size and seems even brighter. The headset buzz when it flashed is now gone, too.

In other news AssfromCB states he will sue me for all I am worth...

No, I said: I could have some fun with you, if you don't quit threatening my personal well being. I really have no reasons to own a cookie cutter home in Cedar Rapids. Not my cup of tea. Not a big fan of cement board siding. So it's all good unless you move next door and tell me I cannot build a fence. Then I'll have to buy the whole damn grave yard behind me and show you how it's done ;-) I think they moved out but still have not been able to sell their house for a year.
