Hello!
And thanks for what you do to promote GA! We like to think we do our share as well, and we'd love to have  you join us as we promote GA in Tennessee!

Sumner County Regional Airport (M33 in Metro Nashville) will be hosting our annual Steam Plant Fly In, Aviation Expo and FMA MusicFest Saturday June 21, 2014, 8am-3pm (Exhibits open 9a). We expect a good crowd this year with added live music (coordinated by Flying Musicians Association), more food, more vendors and more advertising support.  We'll also have good local and aviation press coverage and lots of free prizes and give-aways!

As usual, we want to bring new people into aviation and want to show the public the variety that is out there. We'd like to invite Mooney Ambassadors to display an aircraft and present PGA Squared at the event. We'll have lots of pilots and aviation fans out that day, so this would be a nice way to not only support aviation but also meet some potential new pilots and spread the good word about the value of GA in this country. There is no cost to exhibit and we offer a fuel discount to all who fly in. Free tie down (MAYBE hangar space -first-come/first-serve) overnight if you stay. Free ground transport to/from local accommodations. Special hotel rate, plenty of food at the event, free drinks for exhibitors.

Hope you can join us. Please let me know and we can discuss the particulars. It's going to be a nice show, with more to do than ever before, including speakers and workshops. With Mooney back in operation, we want to showcase one of the best GA aircraft fleets out there.

Our mission is to promote and grow aviation in TN, and that means all of aviation -from jets to parachutes, so we certainly hope you can join us. We want to show the public the many benefits of GA. What better way that to show that by having your presentation? Sponsors of the event include FMA, EAA 1343, GTO Aviation, Eastern Aviation, Gallatin Economic Development Agency, Gallatin Chamber of Commerce, Trade-A-Plane, General Aviation News, Flying High Coffee Co, AvMap, Aircraft Spruce, Bose, and others.

Please let us know. It's gonna be fun! (And spread the word!)

Thanks!

Jolie,

I'm in..Only about 150 miles from me. Looks like a great time. I'll follow-up with you later, still working on Indy if you need it. I sent you a Email. Hope some others can come out and show that we are "Mooney Strong" :) PM me if you want to coordinate a arrival together.

Let me check with my wife on plans that weekend. I live just an hour or so from M33. Looking at their web site, looks like it will be a fun event and educational with Wings Program. I am in for anything that fosters safe flying and promoting aviation to our youth. And of course being able to display the finest aircraft made in the world.

Tom Winter will be the point person on this event, so it is a go.  For Mooney Space folks, please PM me your name and email address so I can get it on the roster.  Ron you sound like a good possibility, that is great.  Triple 8s, make sure to PM me with your name and email, maybe we can get you a ride.

We will also need a canopy for the event.  So if you have one we will coordinate you bringing it, or someone who is driving in. Ours fits in the E model.  We have found that the canopies are a necessity and add to the "booth" feeling and help with shade too!  I am glad folks are stepping forward.  Horray

Hey MS Folks,

I'm planning on taking a "practice trip" to Sumner M33 later in the week to get a feel for "The Lay of the Land". Maybe get an idea of where they might be thinking about putting us. The way I'm reading the info is that they will be providing a tent for us..I will double check my interpretation of the info they posted. I'll also be reaching out to Leonard Assante (coordinator) and get additional details. Jolie currently has the running list of who from MS is planning on going.

I'm bringing my better half with me. I'm sure spouses and children would be more than welcome. We will plan head up Friday late afternoon or early evening. I am based at KDYR (Dyersburg, TN). I have yet to check on accommodations, but will post my findings as soon as I see where they suggest. I've heard this is a very nice area and we are looking forward to it. I hope we can get several MS folks to attend. Feel free to PM me for my cell # or my email is   tpwinter@bellsouth.net.

More info to follow as we get it.
