OR75 Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 More like the few positives and many negatives of converting to Slicks i did not think you had to go with Slick when you convert Quote
fantom Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 i did not think you had to go with Slick when you convert What mags are you planning on using? Quote
John Pleisse Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 You can have dual separate Bendix...they are just $2,800. The Slicks are what they are.......500 hour throw-aways. They are safe and they are dependable for 499 hours, almost literally. 1 Quote
OR75 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 What mags are you planning on using? I am not decided. but thinking that an article on what it takes to convert would be great. ( brackets, hoses, governor, timing, ....). I actually have the answer to most questions as the topic has been covered in several places on this forum . But a good recap would be great. As far as ignition system, I am undecided: Bendix Slick Electroair Quote

They are safe and they are dependable for 499 hours, almost literally. I will let you know about this within a week or two. My aircraft is at annual inspection now and on the list is the 500 hours inspection of the mags. I am not sure if they were new when the engine was overhauled 1000 hours ago... but one thing is sure is that they have 1000 hours minimum on them now and they are the Slicks. Yves Quote
