Alan Fox Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Just curious who is going this year????? Quote
rbridges Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 it's fairly close for me, so I've been kicking it around. Thought about doing a same day round trip. Quote
Danb Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Need to get away usually can't go since I'm a cpa but recovering from back surgery I will need to get away I'm leaning towards it. The last 2 times I went I stayed in st Pete. Tampa. How have you all fared staying in the Lakeland area and what would be a good choice for good choice for lodging. Thanx Quote
Bob_Belville Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 We parked in and intended to camp in the Vintage area last year. (Forwarding company lost out tent and equipment.) We (3 of us) intend to bring my repaired Mooney this year. D.V. I'll be looking for Mike, I'm promised a brew. 1 Quote
Jeff_S Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 I am really trying to make it this year. I've booked a hotel room in Winter Haven for Friday night in case I can get away for more than a day, otherwise I may just make it a day trip from Atlanta either Fri or Sat. Quote
Alan Fox Posted January 16, 2014 Author Report Posted January 16, 2014 I will probably be flying to Spruce Creek , and commuting to lakeland by air..... We should all do a dinner or something.... Quote

Of course we would stipulate no birds and require him to change his stinky pants at least twice that weekend. Not sent from my underpriced Nexus 7 using Tapatalk Quote
Aviator Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Flying down from Saratoga, NY. Any thoughts on user friendly airports. Quote
Bob_Belville Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Flying down from Saratoga, NY. Any thoughts on user friendly airports. You should consider going right into KLAL. We did it last year as first timers. Piece of cake. (We did leave NC in the dark to arrive around 9 A.M. to avoid the busiest TOD but ISTM everything is quite professional.) Hector Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 Every year since 1982. Well, once in the 80's, and twice in the 90's did not make it, but every other time I've made it. Quote
