Most contetious thread subjects

I agree that their is nothing wrong with asking questions and getting responses. One problem I see is that most of these have been beat to death so much that it is hard to find a new question or a new response. But the part that troubles me most is the too frequent attitude of "my opinion is right and anyone who disagrees is a fool (or worse)". I have strong opinions about many of these issues, but I recognize that I could be in error, and everyone has a right to a different position.

According to my imperfect memory, the three top most contentious subjects are now:

 

1. LOP v ROP

2. Bladders v Reseal

3. Flaps or No Flaps on take-off

There was the one who wanted us all to switch to ethanol. I don't think that was contentious though. More like a feeding frenzy!

Don has queried our community, on more than one occasion, to update and complete our profiles, to be more informative about our backgrounds, to not use tail numbers or call signs, to omit political discussion, to have all users complete their posting signature and now..... an interest in isolating contentious discussion.

 

Approaching this more positively and through a less regulatory, more inclusive path would probably work better. Instead of pursuing a manner of "fleecing", perhaps openly solicit suggestion from the community at large on a variety of subject areas that would improve the over all experience.

 

My suggestion? A better mechanism for posting and viewing pic's. Also, more discretely defined subject areas, as is common on other sites. Perhaps the older magazine/MAPA model of having boards, directors and editors would be best relegated to the past. Mooneyspace is a huge success.
