  1. I have never heard of a Mooney with a trim tab, the way you trim a money is the whole empennage moves. Are you sure you have a trim tab?
  2. its called an owner produced part. reference 14 CFR 21.9(a)(5). by you sending them the old one, you are spec'ing out the new owner produced part.
  3. I have a quote from them on the table right now for all of my windows. I had them quote 1/4 inch, UV, gray tint. They are quoting 3 to 4 weeks from receipt of order.
  4. My MVP-50P shows me things I would never know about my engine without it. You really want to see all the EGTs and all the CHTs, along with fuel flow. Fuel pressure will explain why its hard to start when the engine is hot and when to turn on the boast pump when your on the ground on those hot summer days. Once I had a loss of power in flight, I down loaded the data and quickly diagnosed it wasn't an engine problem. Turned out to be a broken bracket on my prop control cable. Get the best engine monitor you can justify. You might need it someday.
  5. I rarely post anything on here any more but I had to respond to this thread. I don't think the feeling will ever go away Bumper, may there be clear skies ahead of you.....
  6. Oh Peter...... I have been off of this site for a few years when I got tired of all the drama, but you just did make me laugh! Thank you.
  7. Get a DER to put an 8110 on the design change and install it with a 337. Then its perfectly legal.
  8. I believe you are correct.
  9. The tempest plugs are a bit longer than the champions. I think I got a socket from napa that worked out ok. Bring an old spark plug with you and see if they are deep enough
  10. I talked to Mr Jaeger at one of the Mooney Summits. While I appreciate his approach to salvaging and restoring the old plastic, if I'm going to invest a significant amount of time; then I only want to do it once and replace what I have with new.
  11. Thank you Clarence. Always a great wealth if information Now I know.
  12. I didn't think Mooney switched at all. I thought the 40:1 gears were a LASAR STC.
  13. So what I'm getting fro this thread is no one has found a good supplier to source Mooney interior parts yet....
  14. Well scratch that idea. I think Chuck Ney Enterprises is out of business. The phone has been disconnected and the domain is for sale.....
  15. Im going to bump this thread again. I'm down again for another cam. I fly at least twice a month if not four times. Each flight is at least an hour. The aircraft was down about 8 years ago for three months. It may have happened then. Who knows. I was thinking of the oilamatic STC with Ney nozzles. Anyone ever try that? John, did you ever install the preoiler?
  16. They did the same thing to me. When it came time for my prop overhaul, I drove it to Birmingham. Was very pleased.
  17. Does anyone know what the quantities are for each bag? Griggs doesnt.
  18. My advice is to send your actuator to them and pay the $1500 while they still have them in stock.
  19. Oscar, I'm sorry you experienced all of these issues on the same flight but I'm glad you are safe. You need to fly your airplane more.......
  20. Kevin Westbrook?
  21. That's takes you out of part 91 and puts you into part 135. You sure you want to do that?
  22. maybe I need to go and spray a little lubricant on mine.......
  23. npe, I sold that about two years ago.
  24. just check the timing of the mags to see if it moved before you start sending things out of a repair you may not need.
  25. They still make F-16s.
