  1. That is interesting. During a hot start in the heat of the summer sometimes I have to use boost pump because my fuel pressure drops. After I get the bubbles out of the line, she runs fine. This explains why. Never happens this time of year. Thanks Bob, I'll have to try this too.
  2. just so you know: you will need feed the IFD 400 jeppesen data (subscription) for the IFD100 to work with the IFD440. The data bases need to be identical, else it wont work.
  3. At one time I would have endorsed your decision. But now, I would say do it another way. The Skytrax 100 is made by Navworx. Even though the Skytrax 100 was not part of the AD, Navworx has ceased operations and I think you will be buying an orphaned adsb receiver. http://www.navworx.com/
  4. At least you get a response, mine just ignores me.
  5. its not, its half that: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/klixon7270.php?clickkey=3304902
  6. This is exactly why there are hanger fairies. Andy is right its a pain, but its not difficult.
  7. Did you get this in writing or just a phone call?
  8. Mine are safety wired to each other in pairs.
  9. you must have oil all over the place then....
  10. or just put put the parameters in foreflight and see it represented graphically on the map
  11. Hank, I found it. 105 for me too. Thanks!!
  12. So the glide ratio is 12:1? At what speed?
  13. why don't you ask CeCi? she'll tell you what the recommend.

  15. I think some mechanics installed them to make the annual easier. I would be willing to one of them is a gear override switch, makes it easier to swing the gear when its up on jacks. The other one might override a squat switch. where they are mounted looks like they weren't meant to be used in flight. I'd love to know what you find.
  16. So here's the point I was trying to make: AC 120-76B on page 4 paragraph d says: Portable COTS-based computers, considered to be PEDs with no FAA design, production, or installation approval for the device and its internal components. Class 2 EFBs are typically mounted. They must be capable of being easily removed from or attached to their mounts by flightcrew personnel. Class 2 EFBs can be temporarily connected to an existing aircraft power supply for battery recharging. They may connect to aircraft power, data ports (wired or wireless), or installed antennas, provided those connections are installed in accordance with AC 20-173. (Portable Class 2 EFB components are not considered to be part of aircraft type design; i.e., not in the aircraft TC or STC.) Therefore it should be perfectly legal to connect your PED to an existing antenna that is currently not in use. Since there are a lot of old DME antenna's on aircraft, and the frequency band for ADSB-in is the same as the old DME signal, I would suggest leaving the DME antenna there and someday use it with your stratus.
  17. It looks like a brand new ADSB-in antenna to me.
  18. Just to update this thread, when I got my stratus back from sporty's they sent a refurbished stratus 2s instead of repairing my stratus 2. With this new unit all of my issues are resolved. Works perfect. I'm guessing the firmware in my stratus 2 didn't support being a router.
  19. Congratulations, you're going to love the upgrade.
  20. +1 for Sam Nipper at Henry County. Very honest and knowledgeable.
  21. Your switches (Circuit breakers) are corroded inside from age and nonuse. They just need to be replaced. They are a bit pricey. Google "Klixon 7270 Series Aircraft Circuit Breakers"
  22. Bada Bing, Bada Boom.....Da Boss..
  23. I bought one from them about 5 years ago. Are you sure they don't sell them?
  24. I think that has something to do when the part is no longer available from the OEM. It doesn't mean we can slowly turn our certified aircraft into home builts one part at a time.
