Expect by measuring the body’s response to the vaccine... the concentration of the anti-bodies must reach a certain level to be considered affective... Expect that the media reports have simplified things down a bit to make them more understandable to everyone... it sounds like a very large percentage of the population gets a good response from their anti-body production... Even a crummy response gives the body a better chance of defending against an acquired infection... The fda recently approved the mixing of the suppliers of each dose... if needed... if you got the first shot from Pfizer, and only the Moderna Shot was available next... PP thoughts only, not a doctor... read a couple of biology books once... and some CNBC... Best regards, -a-

Glen, There are a few threads around here covering the same question... Some have purchased a really good power supply... Some have built their own... Others get by with a decent battery charger... BatteryMinder... You can use the ground power plug... be prepared to supply voltage to it to close the relay... Smart battery chargers may not sense the battery to be charged, so they won’t send voltage to do any charging... a bit of a catch 22 situation... Got a spare battery lying around? Connect it to the ground power plug, and the battery charger to it... With that much capacity, you’ll probably get bored of the instrument training faster than you run out of electrons... +1 for directly connecting to the battery... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a-

Thinking about putting my 252 up for sale

The Missile used the existing long cowl of the M20K... Not sure what the extra hole is for... but it fits nicely over the IO550A... Best regards, -a- -
Welcome aboard John... The best way to get a good copy of your ship’s POH... is by contacting Mooney. Your local MSC does the footwork... So calling your MSC to get it organized works... If you don’t have a local MSC... Call Dan at Lasar... You have a Missile STC from Rocket Engineering... you can get a copy from them... expect all the performance data updates to be found there... As for contacting the MSer above... he has been offline for a couple of weeks... He has been a great resource on Missile details... as he is a new owner as well... PP thoughts only, not a CFI or mechanic... Best regards, -a-

If you go down a row of Mooneys... Look for the one with the plastic leading edge section... you can see it in the drawing part #52. The radar was a good idea... but it was very limited in its skills... Kind of high in maintenance as well... There may be a thread around here by somebody trying to get one fixed... Best regards, -a-

Somebody mentioned compression ratios... So I invited @Sandman993 to stop by... I think sand is a fan of the high compression pistons... Best regards, -a- -
Proof that it is an aerobatic engine... Works equally well right side up... Paul how many HP do you expect to have in that fine machine? Best regards, -a-

For most cost effective parts collection... Consider the pre-flown variety... They are original Mooney parts, so removing them from one Mooney to be installed in the next should be easy for your mechanic... See what @Alan Foxhas on the shelf for that... then @Jerry Pressley... then @SheryLoewen Best regards, -a-

Chuck, The agent doesn’t make the rules... Falcon is the agent... to discuss your situation, and best way to handle it... speak with the son of falcon... Our insurance guy had spent some time there before going out on his own years later... Set up a discussion with Parker... he can tell you what to avoid based on getting to know where you are at... Best regards, -a- -
For a list of Mooney Plane names... there is a thread for that... Some get tail art... Like a Bravo / Angry Bird... Some get nose art... M20J with flames emanating from the cowl... Some art runs from nose to tail... like a modern Mooney Eagle logo down the side.... (awesome) Some get official names... Like an important M20E... Gypsy Rose. Others just get funky references... like grandma’s flying couch or aluminum mistress Some references are total Mismatches... The turtle was supposed to be an M20G... but the owner bought an M20F instead... Vinyl graphics make adding tail art pretty easy... Use caution when naming machines... You might need a couch in the hangar to sleep on... PP thoughts, stuff I have seen around here... Best regards, -a-

+1 for JPI close to the engine controls... because you will be looking at one while adjusting the other... +1 for spare AI... for IMC... Vernier controls to go with that... precise control, because you can... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a-

Welcome aboard Timbo! I think these guys are alright too... @The-sky-captain Hasn’t been back since just after he sold Rocky... To restart the old flame... Did you use T/O flaps with those numbers? My engine runs turbine smooth... So I use a progressive method of rotating... It happens so fast... I just skip to the flying check list... Use caution with the soft field technique... it is really easy to lift off easy as expected... but climbing out of ground affect without accelerating can be a bit funky... PP thoughts only, not a CFI... Best regards, -a-

+1 M20K as a forever-plane... -a-
-
I would copy that idea, to be put in a file... sent to Mooney to work on during lulls in the production schedule... I know somebody at the factory is collecting the ideas... like @Jonny and @Davidv There are many forever-planes that could benefit from having some new and modern interior panels... There isn’t a more stable project than working on an airframe that is 50years old.... stable as in... the dimensions aren’t changing... or expected to change... Best regards, -a-

Two Flying Events this Saturday in NJ/PA
carusoam replied to 201er's topic in Miscellaneous Aviation Talk
Interesting follow up years later... via the Aero News Network... Somebody (Hilton family foundation) donated a ton of of dough to the Women In Aviation / 99s... For the story they used a Mooney with a beautiful lady getting out of the plane... Probably filmed during one of their famous Poker Runs... Skip ahead to about 4:23 in the video to see the famous bird... Or watch the whole thing where Kimberly Kaye covers a few things like current status of Terrafugia... Best regards, -a-- 1 reply

Single Piece Avionics Access Panel STC? (Pre-J)
carusoam replied to Trenta's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
That’s interesting... Why is it three pieces to begin with? Accessing one side at a time? Some Mooneys had a transponder or other antenna in the middle, adding another hole to leak... Making it one piece would cure the most leak prone part, that is over the most water sensitive items... +1 for having a mechanic with good sheet metal skills... Go MS! PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a- -
The probe Rich is showing is the Thermistor type... for 0.15 amu... The typical K type CHT sensor is about 0.1 amu... more cost friendly.... So... it looks like you are modernizing the instrument display, unrelated to the failed sensor... Make sure you are getting the right type of sensor... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... +1 on Rich’s recommendation... he is a real mechanic... and probably has pics of the actual probe That just came off his engine... Best regards, -a-

Complete wing assembly for 201
carusoam replied to Roy Irvin's topic in Avionics / Parts Classifieds
Welcome aboard Roy! Really interesting first post... Do you have any detail of where the wing came from? Being in Flora, Is it related to MidWest Mooneys? Got anything else related to the rest of the donor plane? Best regards, -a-
