  1. @Chrigi Somebody was inquiring about the overhead light (taxi, landing, etc..) switches, and plastic panels around it... Best regards, -a-
  2. I would think.... hydrogen sensors would be important for safety... With indoor fork trucks... it would be possible to send a bubble of H2 to the ceiling lights, if there was a leak... Oddly, we were cleaning up some helium balloons earlier this week... somebody released the excess helium into the room... Within seconds the smoke detector / gas detector was alarming... I didn’t think we had a He detector... and it was near the floor as well... Best regards, -a-
  3. Rick, @PilotFun101 has posted a few videos around here... If you want to see a great example of how well the Dynon screens fit, and work... Chris has done a great job of capturing them with video... Let me know if you have difficulty finding the videos or Chris... He is quite the Dynon / Mooney spokes person... Best regards, -a-
  4. Good news... Lottery may not be required... So many good pieces of nav equipment are getting pulled by the real lottery winners... You may find something good sitting on the shelf in the used nav equipment supplier’s hangar... Best regards, -a-
  5. Today’s Eagle eye award, with explanation... goes to Don! It is clearly written in 94’s description of his tow bar... (great pics too) I suddenly saw the mod, after I read Don’s small post... Best regards, -a-
  6. You are good to go with what you have... HSIs are the work horse of IFR flight... A single display that incorporates different resources multiple VOR, ILS, and GPS inputs... Something to consider if upgrading the panel... G5, GI275, or something pre-flown... Best regards, -a-
  7. Note for @kxb if you are in the neighborhood... see Ceis above.... -a-
  8. Find the ovation being parted out in Europe around here... See what is left of the interior... Or, contact the factory to see what it costs to have one built... Best regards, -a-
  9. +1 it will only make a difference when you fly different planes... Or if a different plane flyer borrows your plane... When scanning your instrument panel to keep the sunny side up in IMC... this is a cognitively tiring job that takes lots of time to get used to... If you have an AP keeping the sunny side up... you can slow the repetition down quite a lot... PP thoughts only, not a CFI... Best regards, -a-
  10. Congrats on getting the bird in the hand! -a-
  11. Hydrogen is coming on strong... As Rich points out above... green hydrogen is the only way to be near cost effective... Middle of the desert collecting solar energy, and splitting water in half... There are a few companies working on this commercially... with trucks and trains in mind... Currently popular for indoor fork trucks... https://www.plugpower.com PP thoughts only, always keeping my eyes open... Best regards, -a-
  12. Use caution with the bubble idea... They are great for positive pressure... Even dust free when using filtered air... Check to see if they are using a dehumidifier in there anywhere... Dehumidifying doesn’t use a lot of science... But, it needs some... There are many ways to measure and record RH as well... So... use some science... surround your important machine parts with dry air... use a measuring and recording device to make sure you get what you are looking for... I can’t imagine the effort required to park a car inside the bubble... I bet it gets used twice... Clean room engineering thoughts only, not just a PP... Best regards, -a-
  13. The LL and blue dye... when allowed to dry in the same place like in the carburetor, or in the tubes after the carburetor... Has a tendency to leave behind a thick layer of blue goo... The same stuff that appears at a fuel leak... often appears brown after a while... Ever clean out the intake tubes on an O360? Lots of fuel needs to evaporate for any amount of goo to appear... PP thoughts only... Best regards,
  14. Great job, CW! Nice pirep for Lee Fox too! Lots o wind and gusts... Looks like the centerline was afraid of you... Best regards, -a-
  15. Welcome to the new millennium Rick! The argument that you shouldn’t upgrade an old plane... Flew out the window somewhere in the last century... When somebody said... buy your last plane first... Update your forever-plane any way you like... You are going to find MooneySpace a little friendlier than you expect... MS is on the internet... but, it isn’t the internet... There are at least four owners of Dynon panels on MS... Two of them are M20Cs... Hope you weren’t expecting to be the first.... As far as the Uavionics DG goes... run a search... check the pireps on the precession... there is room for improvement... Best regards, -a-
  16. Let’s see if @Chrigi is checking in... Question for you above ^^^^ -a-
  17. High power engines, set at high power settings, will be using 100 octane fuels for a while... Look to the experimental world to see if they are doing something differently... High compression pistons and water cooling allow for many things that are not available in the certified world... yet. To watch an interesting attempt at using diesel technology in a high power plane... visit YouTube and see the experiments of the Raptor Aircraft... Raptor is currently flying... but, is bogged down with dealing with cooling issues... Performance can be incredibly shortened by excess heat... New technology requires lots of investment to make work... Time and Money... Fly what’s available today... Best regards, -a-
  18. Sorry.. I’m late to the party! Got it! -a-
  19. Some times flight stream gets shortened to FS... Would the FS-510 be more capable...? Best regards, -a-

  21. Two of the really nicest Mooneys.... Ever... Nemo (JSG) Gypsy Rose (EM) Gypsy Rose had the honor of defining the terms for Forever-plane status... The M20E became the best retirement plane ever... PP thoughts only... Best regards, -a-
  22. Don, Great archive you have generated! Toto, great find, thanks for posting... Ron, great insight, as always! Best regards, -a-
  23. Expect that crush washers are a one time use item... Probably a quick fix... proper size, proper orientation of the washer, and torque, and safety wire... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a-
  24. Chuck, There are about a half dozen AOAi used my MSers... From low cost to super expensive... This will get you close to the discussions... https://mooneyspace.com/search/?q=Angle of attack&updated_after=any&sortby=relevancy&search_and_or=and They can work really well for getting your landing energy right... Best regards, -a-
  25. Important pirep for the Uavionix AV-30-C Drapo! Thanks for sharing the status report regarding precession... Hope they get a solution for that soon. Best regards, -a-
