  1. Warren, Century still exists... https://www.centuryflight.com/products/systems/triden-series-autopilot.html There are a few conversations around here.... that I haven’t seen much of in a while... -a-
  2. Thank you gents! My knowledge clearly needs some work prior to going that high... Is any of this related to the ‘coffin corner’? Possibly described by U2 pilots or SR71 pilots...? Best regards, -a-
  3. Prize winning post of the day! Way to go Stig! Best regards, -a-
  4. Drop some words in the search box... There are so many choices and suppliers... Nice powered portable devices cost over an AMU... Some are nice extended tow bars.... Some connect to a lawn mower... Some connect to a golf cart.... My favorite ones come from a company called... Sidewinder... Some get built by hand... Some are fully robotic and remote controlled... Best regards, -a-
  5. @SoccerCA, I sense your dissatisfaction, with my response... Yet I can’t understand what part you don’t like? 1) You got a new piece of hardware... 2) Whoever did the work, didn’t finish the job... 3) to finish the job, you need a new seal... the old piece of felt doesn’t fit, and air pressure leaks by when seals aren’t working as designed... 4) I gave you the contact info for the Seal Guy that many MSers use... 5) I also let you know how I got confused while reading your request... 6) The air intake, you mentioned... I was looking for your air intake, that has a filter on one end, and sometimes a carburetor on the other... Let me know how I can do better... I’m only a PP, not a mechanic... it’s like my first day here... Best regards, -a-
  6. For fancy matching baffle seals to your fancy new hardware... Check in with @GEE-BEE our local supplier of baffle seals... As far as your air intake goes... There has got to be better words to describe the guppy mouth... PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a-
  7. @J Bird that is surely one way to service them... There is a discussion around here about the best way to clean and lube them... Slow, is a typical dirty, lack of lubricant issue... No longer attached to the drive... that is a worn out clutch syndrome... I sent my for service when the clutches were worn... I hardly ever used them. So I assume the prior owner must have liked them... Mine get tested prior to flight. Not much activity after that... Best regards, -a-
  8. Sounds kinda high... (compared to a similar value O...) You might get a more knowledgable quote from Parker at airspeed... Best regards, -a-
  9. Find the thread for discussion regarding Airbus and Boeing... Some of the detail is interesting and somewhat outside the usual GA concerns... Topics like slipping a behemoth and computer decision making issues... Best regards, -a-
  10. You might find a lot of details on their website... https://preciseflight.com/general-aviation/speedbrakes/ -a-
  11. Welcome aboard AME, I’ll let JOR know you are asking... Best regards, -a-
  12. Sounds unique... Got a pic? Lets check with the doc... @M20Doc (M20M Variable down spring tension...) Best regards, -a-
  13. Lots of Aspens around here... Many went through the upgrade process for faster processor and HD screens... The older, slower, LD screens are noticeable.... There was one hiccup with screens shutting down... a year or so ago... Plenty of complaints about turn around time for the upgrades that were all trying to get done at once... Haven’t heard anything lately... small screens that fit in standard panels a great for some... When doing a complete modern panel redo... wide screens are in... A single HD Aspen with all the data options is pretty magical for situational awareness... A second one is great for back-up and charts/SV If you don’t like Big G... Aspen and Dynon make great options... Best regards, -a-
  14. That plane is a beauty! -a-
  15. Looking forwards to the pirep on the beta system! +1 for knowing how the beta system fails... Something i didn’t like so much about the Rocket’s gov failure to increase pitch, instead of flatten pitch... Improves glide if the engine croaks... Kills thrust if the gov croaks... Really short landings would be really interesting... Best regards, -a-
  16. Great follow-up DEGWS! Best regards, -a-
  17. Robert, If you ask the question out loud (in print)... We can invite the guy who is holding the manual... He may give us the answer you need... See if that works... Best regards, -a-
  18. Oddly, a well balanced IO550 is considered turbine smooth as well... When compared to Lycoming fours... And having a Gami spread close to zero... Now add an MT to that... It may actually be turbine smooth... More blades is good for getting off the ground and climbing.... The negative aspect is the increased drag of the extra blade area... Flying high is pretty much the best way to make the added drag a non-issue... PP thoughts only... -a-
  19. I sent a message over to Craig... It looks like the button went into hiding... -a-
  20. Nice to have the video detail.... The challenge to consider while flying a broken plane... don’t change anything including airspeed... until you have to. They handled it really well... PP thoughts only, not a test pilot... Best regards, -a-
  21. Paging brother @Alan Fox... Question for you... above ^^^ -a-
  22. Need to pick a day to start banging the TruTrak drum again... -a-
  23. Great pirep for Paul and Savvy! Thanks for sharing it, Smut! (With all due respect! ) Best regards, -a-
  24. What’s your secret? Plenty of MSers would like to fish in the same lake you were at..! +1 on Don K. Right man for the right plane... If something doesn’t work in Don’s schedule... Paul Kortopates will be great too... Best regards, -a-
  25. Time in type... 100hrs is good... more may be better... IR... is good... Recent training helps... MAPA training... Things that helped lower my rate in the past... while using that other company... aka falcon. Best regards, -a-
