  1. Didn't get many hours in 2016, but I was able to get my hangar find back in the air
  2. As the J-Bar is rotated from the floor to the "Gear Down" lock under the panel, wouldn't the the retraction tubes be pulling on the nose and pushing on the mains? And again step "G" does not say which tubes to shorten and which to lengthen
  3. Spruce has the stat-o-seal
  4. paragraph "g" is confusing
  5. Seems the kit has 4 O-rings and the leather piston..... Have you called any of the MSC's to see if they have the kit?
  6. It's not just o-rings, the "piston" is leather
  7. Not sure I've ever had a tailwind, or it sure seems that way. I had a 52kt headwind in a 172 that made for a long flight. Was sitting right seat in Cherokee 140 and saw 186kts GS.
  8. 30x48, electric and water, C-172 and M20E with a little room to tinker when needed. Uncontrolled, VOR and GPS approaches, $3.70 gal fuel, 20 minutes door to door, $175.00 month split 50/50.
  9. 65 E, complete weight & balance done several months ago, 1676 lbs empty, 899 lbs for gas(52gal), oil, butts and baggage
  10. I just rebuilt mine, smooth (leathe) away from the o-ring is the way mine was assembled
  11. Alex, it's four pieces of plastic that are available from Plane Plastic. I installed them on mine cause I like the way it hides all the control rods and braces there.
  12. I replaced the chrome gear handle on my E, LASAR has them. Has to be on jack, but easy to replace
  13. Not long enough
  14. Fix-a-flat is very corrosive not to mention a mess to deal with when repairing the flat/tire correctly
  15. I sat down early Sunday morning building a spreadsheet based on several places I have driven and flown to. Being a new Mooney owner I had to recalculate times/fuel for the flying portion, the first scenario was to Mustang Island, just east of Corpus Christi Tx in the Gulf of Mexico, great place due to the many restaurants to pick from, T65 > KRAS (109 mm). The first thing I noticed is how much faster it was in the Mooney vs the C-172 we use to take. Wing-X showed it to be 41 minutes, wow only 41 minutes, so we flew over for lunch... In my excitement I forgot to save my work when I shut down the computer. Isn't Math fun?
  16. it might make it easier but it is not necessary
  17. On my PC and iPhone no issues, my iPad I want to throw across the room, but seems a little better now. I dont mind an add or too but when you cant get back to where you were it really pisses me off
  18. My guess was 15~20k. great job on keeping the cost down......I warned you earlier that short hops wind up as x-countries..lol
  19. There is a 172 at my home base that has the receptacle wired direct, Its mounted inside the cowl.
  20. My E has one on top of the battery box, just as in the photos above. Should be fairly easy to source the parts needed, the bracket and spring loaded door might be an issue
  21. I have done that already and have it on 5.5"x 8.5" paper if you want to save the time
  22. Living in S.TX. I can be in another country (Mexico) in 20 min. by car, Houston takes 5hrs, Dallas is 9hrs. Can you see why a have a Mooney?
  23. Enjoy the fruits of your labor, you did an awesome job.
  24. Congrats
  25. Great job getting your bird back in the air. Like yours, my E had slow to respond gauges but after 5.5hrs they have limbered up and seem fine now. Be warned, my 3rd flight was going to be a quick hop to check an audio panel repair but ended up being a 250nm joy ride.
