Hi all,

My glareshield lights quit last Wednesday and I troubleshot it down to a fuse under the pot's for the panel and glareshield. There is a separate fuse for each system and they are a Buss FM01A 125V 5A. It's a ceramic cylindrical fuse with 2 leads on one end and the electrode in a window on the other end.  I've never seen a fuse like this before. Anyone have a source for them?

Thanks,

They are called micro fuses (usually for printed circuit boards) and can even be bought on eBay.  Regulations say you should have spares during flight, so order a couple.  The following link sells them for $3.00 a piece:

The first time I needed one of these fuses, I wound up paying about $15 to one of the aircraft suppliers. Eventually I found these alternate sources, and keep a few on hand.

Just above the co-pilot's left knee. A couple of kinda conical shaped covers, you unscrew to get to the fuses.

I paid 80$ for two when i first got my plane and did some work on that circuit. I left the bare handshake coupler against the edge of the panel and t blew both of them and the transistors too.

I'll give you a call the first of the week.

We have them under a Piper number and a Mooney number.
