Choices in 2013

Both are great. Oshkosh is an airplane ONLY week and for that it is better. Fun N Sun could be more of a family thing. Not as big in any way but a better trip for the wife and/or kids. More "other" stuff to do. Spent a week on Sanibel Island a few years ago with my wife, was able to sneak out to fun and sun for one day while she layed in the sun.

I've done the camping thing at OSH and it's no doubt the definitive experience if you want to immerse yourself in airplanes and crowds for a few days. But given that I live in Atlanta and can make SnF a day trip, I kind of prefer that. You still get a kick-ass air show (and usually get either the Blue Angels or the T-Birds, which seldom do OSH) and you can check out pretty much all the same vendors in a single day.  I hadn't thought about trying to coordinate it around a beach vacation for the wifey...she definitely loves her sun and sand. Perhaps I'll try that trick as well this year!

You can see a lot more in a shorter period of time at SnF. It's easier to get around and to fly into and out of in my experience. Oshkosh is much more spread out, usually has a least one day of crummy weather, since most pilots spend more days there it's not as rushed as SnF, it will probably wind up costing more to visit, BUT it's the Mecca of General Aviation, you'll meet interesting people from all over the world, and every pilot needs to go there at least once, IMO.

If I could only do one, ever, it would be Oshkosh, but heck, why don't you go to both this year.

For the East Coasters so far we'll partner with the Bonanza guys and participate in their Burlington, NC or Westfield, MA or FL clinics. BUT.....If we can generate some interest in an east coast Mooney clinic in say the May timeframe maybe we can put something together. I know you guys have a pretty active NJ Mooney group. If there are some interested folks I'd be happy to try to work a plan!
