JetSet1967 Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 I am in need of a replacement Glareshield for my M20C. Can someone point me in the right direction? Quote
Alan Fox Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 There was one listed on here a while back.... Quote
OR75 Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 http://www.aircraftglareshield.com/mooney.htm looks like they make only 201 but may be worth giving them a call and see if they have suggestions for a C. Quote
N33GG Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 I would try calling Don Maxwell 903-643-9903. If he doesn't have one, he could probably suggest where to look.  Good luck! Quote
fantom Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 I recall Aircraft Spruce has them. I not sure if they're good for C's. Quote
1964-M20E Posted December 30, 2012 Report Posted December 30, 2012 I have one from an E model that snaps on. This is for the original windshield. PM me if interested. Quote
Marauder Posted December 30, 2012 Report Posted December 30, 2012 Does anyone know of a shop that can repair one? I'm starting to see cracks and wonder if repair is a viable option. Quote
BigTex Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 Contact Aero Comfort. They'll redo it for you. Quote
Marauder Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 Thanks. I have heard these guys named a bunch of times. Eventually would like to get my interior redone. Do they do the entire insides? Quote
omega708 Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 +1 on Aero Comfort. Give them a call and you will not be disappointed. Quote

Marauder Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 Anyone got pictures to share? Quote
omega708 Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 I've attached their Mooney Interior price list (they sent it to me when they recovered my yokes.)  As well as a picture of some seats that they have done (not mine..)  You should also check out http://www.aerocomfort.com/index/mooney/  I think a glareshield rebuild in ultra-leather is about $320.  -JLG PriceList (3-8-12) (1).pdf Quote
omega708 Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 I'd also say that they are great to work with. Â When I pulled up to the avionics shop to have my panel refurbished, my door handle strap broke. Â I emailed Hector at Aero Comfort and he threw in two new leather door straps when he shipped my yokes back. Â Granted it is a low cost item, but I would have gladly paid for them. Â Yokes before and after below. Â Â Â Â 1 Quote

Has anyone done that and how did that turn out? I also saw one of the commenters on their site said they loved their work but they were expensive (funny that they let that be posted). Any ballpark figures on the cost to have it done at their site and remotely? Quote
omega708 Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 I think the price for that was in the PDF that I posted. You'd just need to back out the ~1700 for removal and installation. Quote
BigTex Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 They are pretty upfront with their costs. Here's what I recently got quoted:  Leather Seat Upholstery - $3433 Headliner/sidewall Panel Upholstery (Untraleather) - $2746 Glareshield Upholstery (Ultraleathe) - $320.75 Carpet (Nylon) - $945 Carpet Matts (Set of 4) w/Logo - $183.75 Removal and Installation - $1782.50  They have many other items they can do if you'd like like new lap belts, compost covering. If you want them to turn-key it where you drop off your plane and pick it up, my quote for everything done was $11,400.  You can remove your interior and send it to them and save $1783. Do you know how they handle problems if they encounter them (for example if they encounter a broken seat frame)?  I'd contact Hector Fernandez at Aero Comfort and ask. He's a great guy and would answer any question you might have. His email address is: hectorh@aerocomfort.com. His phone number is: 210-340-0177. I'm sure like the rest, I hate surprises during upgrades. Especially since when they happen to the stuff you are upgrading, it derails the project both for money and time. I will give Hector a call and see what he says. I'm not planning on doing anything until the Spring at the earliest. Both my interior and exterior need to be dealt with. Is there an order preference? I'm positive I need to replace my side windows. Better to have the interior done first with the glass or exterior with glass, then interior? Quote

They look AMAZING and I have this exact set up, would love to see about getting this done to them.  THANKS! Quote
carusoam Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 Check out the price list that Omega posted a few posts above... The prices may have aged some, but the list of ideas that it contains is worth reviewing... Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

carusoam Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 Look on the second page... There are a few options there for leather wrap yokes. Best regards, -a- Quote
Joseph Long Posted August 25, 2023 Report Posted August 25, 2023 I'm going to replace the glareshield in my M20C.  Is the removal as simple as popping the snaps off or is there more to it?  Based on many of the replies to this topic I'm planning on removing and shipping it AeroComfort to have them revitalize it. Quote
