So I know its only Feb but I am really excited about Oshkosh this year since it'll be my first year going and with my own airplane. I plan on camping out in the back 40 for the week. After that I have 2 weeks of flying around the US. It's gonna be an adventure. So who here is going? I know for sure Jolie and Mitch are going! Who else is going to be the Mooney partners in crime. If you go and want to find me....the red marks the spot! Laughing

I did a big OSH event last summer so I may not be able to take the time away again this year. Of course, this year I have a Mooney instead of a Warrior, so it makes an out-and-back overnight a bit more doable.

We shall see.

For sure we are going!  We already have our lodging booked.  We have a room in a private home that is about 3 miles from the airport. The folks rent out their house every year to pay for their grandaughter's tuition at school.  For about $90 it includes breakfast, use of laundry facilities and the like.  There are a few more rooms available if you want more information, just let me know.

MAPA will be at Oshkosh again this year.  We should all make a point to go and say hello to Lela and Trey, and to taste some of that great lemonade.

For the first time since I left the Air Force, I am not going to Oshkosh.Frown

I usually go every year with my company, but this year I will be shaking out and flight testing some glass cockpit avionics in some fire fighting aircraft instead.

I have started planning early...

I missed last year because of IMC and no IR.

I vowed not to let that happen again.  Thanks again American Flyers @KMMU.

Hope to see you all out there.  I will be looking for Big Red.

Sun-N-Fun anyone???

I last went -- flying out there and camping north 40 -- back in 1999. I was in college at the time and worked for a little flight school whose owner was cool with turning me loose with his 172 for a week.

Now that I have a Mooney I'd love to return. I am tentatively planning a couple of long adventures this summer. Would definitely like to make OSH but not 100% comitted yet.

My social director has decreed that we shall proceed to Osh this year.  Woohoo!!  I ain't never been.

Three Mooney's from our field are going and it looks like we are all headed for the North 40.  Looking forward to meeting a whole passle of Mooney drivers and seeing some of the faces associated with electronic conversations I have had over the last five years.

Not ready for the Mooney Caravan yet.  Maybe in a couple of years.

I've got it penciled in and hope to join the Caravan, if nothing else for the group parking on the North 40 + camping.  I'm hoping/planning to take my dad, a former C-owner from long ago who never made it there.  I last went in '94, so I'm long overdue and can't wait!

My wife and I plan on flying our 65E to Oskosh for the tenth year in a row. We usually try to land at new (to us) airports and are always looking forward to seeing new sights and meeting new people along the way. I have family in Green Bay and always park at Austin Straubel (GRB) and have a vehicle to use and a place to stay there. We'd love to meet up with other Mooney pilots along the way and possibly get some exciting inflight photos to share with the group.

Not sure if we'll make it to Sun N Fun this year.

Can't make it this year - I have a big trip planned to the Bahamas instead! Not the same timeframe, but close enough that I can't afford to do both. Maybe next year, though.

Four of us are flying commercial. We'd love to take the Mooney but there's not enough room for four and camping gear and our schedules won't allow for any weather delays. Someday I'm hoping to make the trip and experience the arrival. It's our first time and we're all very excited. Our wives are getting tired of us talking about it. Just wait until we get back.

Eric, you are going to have a blast. It is the most AMAZING event. Everyone is friendly and so helpful.  We will be there the whole week, so maybe we can get together and go to Ardy and Ed's for some fried cheese curds. Yum!

Cheese curds-- woo-hoo! Can't wait. We're flying to see family in St. Louis, but should be able to spend a couple of nights in Oshkosh, probably later in the week. I'll touch base with you and Mitch.

Planning to go again, it will be the third time at OSH in a 60's Mooney.

It is much more comfortable to stay in a house or hotel...but once again I'll be in the little tent.  I pitch the tent under the Mooney's horizontal stab so rainfall during the night doesn't wake me as often, I find.

Looking forward to it.

I am supposed to be going with my best friend. The plan is at the moment to fly in a rented 182. Even if I do get my own Mooney in time, I'll probably still be in the dump truck. The problem is my friend is so damn big!! I don't think he would even fit in a Mooney and if I end up with a manual gear one, I doubt the J-bar would swing past his ass. I wish he would loose a ton of weight, but ain't happening I'm affraid. I'd love to hook up with the Mooney folks though. I promise not to park next to you.
