Hello everyone,


I was just going to drop in and see if anyone happened to know of a nice Bravo with TKS for sale that isn't advertised right now on any of the big three. There are a few on the market, but they all have their issues, and maybe there's something better out there.  After reading about some of the sales made here, I figured I'd throw it out there.


Anybody have one?


I'm in TX, so would prefer one in the central US; northern would work too.

You are making  good choice.  I have owned a TKS equipped Bravo for 5 years or so.  The TKS works well and I have only had a few maintenance issues with it.  Previously owned a couple of booted airplanes, TKS is more effective.  Mine is not for sale now but I hope you find a good one.

I don't know of any Bravos outside the online advertisers, and unfortunately Jimmy Garrison just sold a 1997 M20K Encore with TKS.


 


However there are many nice M20K 252s for sale and the 252/Encore versions of the M20K can be equipped with TKS.  From what I hear they are somewhat negotiable on a FIKI TKS install.

A 252/262 TKS would be a fast airplane, but we are really looking for a long-body for the size.  And, the Bravo's have a Lycoming vs the Continental (not trying to start anything, but.... ha).


It should be FIKI too - there are actually some Bravos out there that are the inadvertent TKS system.


We're moving up from a FG Saratoga - it's for sale.  Nice airplane, & extremely well equipped.  We think a Bravo is the way to go next time for the capabilities of ice and the speed.

Check http://theapa.com. There was a gentleman selling a half ownership in a Bravo and I think the other half would also be for sale. If I recall, it was at Hicks, just north of Fort Worth. 


< edit >  It looks like the Bravo I had seen does not come up in the search anymore.  There is someone looking To co-own an Ovation out in Dallas though.) Looks like he flys about 75 hrs a year so the availibility should be good.

I hate to admit to ignorance, but I have to do it all the time anyway.  What does the acronym FIKI stand for?  Please help me in my quest for enlightenment:)

Thanks Dave.  I prefer not to go FIKI.  Not a good strategy for long term survival.  At least not in my 201 which is not equipped or certified for such.

Right now, we want a turn-key FIKI aircraft.  It would be alright if we had to update the panel (to a 530W), but we don't want the downtime and major expense of adding TKS (~40g).

Thanks.  I've seen the Bravo they were selling a third of, and I think it was sold by a member on here - that's part of the reason I am posting.  N553C is the tail of the ADS-based bird - it's beautiful.  I'm guessing at this point they don't want to sell it whole, as they just purchased it (two guys, looking for a third owner)

And we want the turbo-charged, fire-breathing screamer that makes the Bravo a little more capable than the Ovation.

I have a 1991 M20M with TKS and the Rocket "351" conversion for sale.  It has a brand new factory (aprox 80 hrs total time since brand new) 350 HP (derated to 335 HP) turbo-charged and liquid cooled Continental TSIOL 550 A1C engine with a brand new (aprox 80 hrs total time) McCauley full feathering prop.  It has a King KLN 90B GPS with a MFD moving map and WX 500 stormscope and terrain, King EFIS with digital HSI, dual glideslopes, King KFC 150 digital autopilot with altitude preselect/capture, JPI EDM 800 engine analyzer with fuel flow/HP/TIT, Shadin Mini L fuel flow analyzer, Terra radar altimeter, dual music inputs, new 115 CF oxygen tank, Monroy 130 gallon fuel tanks, electric trim (aeilron and rudder), Bose adapters, dual vaccum pumps, dual alternators, dual batteries, and speed brakes!  Original paint shows well and original leather interior is definitely serviceable.  Fly over 240 knots at 24,000 feet on 22 gal/hr.  This is the airplane Rocket Engineering flew to 35,000 ft and stopped because of a failed oxygen mask (still was climbing at 1,000 ft/min at 35K ft)!  Vref says $242,000, but I will let it go for $185K obo.  Let me know if you are interested...Jason (jasonwojo@msn.com).
