I have an electric unit in my plane (was in it when I bought it) and it makes a big difference in noise level.

I know Jose has a good way to seal the door with a door seal material but ny cockpit is very quiet with the electric door seal.

I have one too and it really makes a difference. The one I have is manual.

For the last 20 years I have been using Home Depot MD 3/8" by 3/4" foam weatherstrip. It works much better than the factory seal and it last longer (3-5 years). It comes in 10ft length and cost only $4.00. It has its own peel back side adhesive for easy installation. Absolutely no noise or water leaks. Unlike the factory seal the foam conforms to the door gap irregularity. You can also get similar foam seals at boating stores like West Marine. When installing it make sure the surface is clean of the old glue. Before spending money on expensive seals try this one first.

hmm - I'd rather put that in - since the normal mooney door seal was 130 something as quoted by my IA.

I flew in an M20J that had one and it was great, except for you had to re-inflate it every 15 minutes or so because it leaked. It really did cut down on the noise.
