Did anyone else get into Fredericksburg early. Nothing official happening today or tonight. Anyone want to meet for dinner this evening or anything this afternoon.

We just did Llano Tuesday. Their courtesy car is a 1995 Crown Vic police interceptor. Cop engine, cop brakes, cop tires...... Fuel was $4.90 and the BBQ was excellent.

I had the pleasure of driving a cop-car-turned-courtesy-vehicle somewhere in Illinois while waiting on weather to clear up. It ran, only made occasional strange noises, and had a permanent 10ยบ list to port, even when parked empty. Since it had the airport logo painted on both sides [almost filling the front doors], I had to drive responsibly . . . . "Home of the Friendly People" didn't seem like a good logo to go racing around town!

Ya'll have a good time, and eat some barbequed beef for me.

I just looked at the TX radar, and YES, that looks pretty awful. Hopefully it breaks up tonight or tomorrow so everyone can arrive safely. Last weekend in College Station was absolutely perfect after the cold front came through...

Things get going on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. at the Fredericksburg Inn and Suites. There is a large room/hall near the pool and that is where the seminars are being held. I hope that folks who can fly in safely do so, and if not please consider driving if within range. Trey and Lela have worked so hard on Homecoming, and I feel so bad for them with this weather. Anyway, we will be there tomorrow morning. Hope to see folks.

I assume you can register for the box lunch and the dinner tomorrow night.

Even if you don't want to "participate", T82 is a public airport and you are free to come. For my part, we are always glad to see Mooneys and Mooney pilots. I doubt anyone would know whether registered or not. Come on.

I haven't registered or anything. If I showed up in a Mooney around 10:00am saturday would I be welcomed or would I meet pitchforks?

Had a great time at the convention this year. I thought it was a much better format with less seminars (though the ones they had were great), more social time, and lots of time to hang out at the airport and socialize around planes, and the Mooney factory tour (I have to say it, its kind of like Pompeii in there, but still really eye opening to see how my Mooney was made...) and the variety of activities around Fredericksburg! It felt much better to go from place to place - hotel, airport, vineyard, factory, etc, than being confined to one hotel for 3 days straight and "separated" from the planes (though we were separated from our plane by a 5 hr drive since the weather made us resort to ground transportion, boo hoo). I can even keep my sarcasm down (only slightly) about the relevance of the "ladies' lunch" special topic for me (at 33, I think it will be a while before I need a knee or hip replacement... and no one even bothered to ask the effect of such surgery on our aviation medical), but it was ok, because we had yummy Tex Mex food.

Unrelated to the convention, we loved loved loved the Hangar Hotel, our only wish is that there had been more Mooney people there to relax with us in the O'club after the evenings activities finished.

My schedule only allowed me to fly in to Fredricksberg for an hour to check out the other Mooneys and find out that everyone was gone to Kerrville on a bus to visit the old factory. Still it was nice to see so many Mooneys, and some really nice vintage Mooneys and obviously recently restored examples. Sweet!
