Derrickearly Posted May 10 Report Posted May 10 Looking for a trim tube with part number 915026-009 for my 1976 M20F. It’s -56 in the parts catalog figure. Quote
varlajo Posted May 10 Report Posted May 10 I got mine from Lubbock Aero last year, $254.21. Call Richard Jackson, (806) 747-5101. 1 Quote

There is supposed to be a “sacrificial block” where it goes through there, so yes, they put that in with the new one. That damage is actually pretty common. The newer models have some kind of a wrap on the tube and the “lining” in the hole. 1 Quote

Mine didn't have the block, but there was quite a bit of sacrificial speed tape on the old tube. 2 Quote

I was lucky to notice the wear on mine before the tube was too far gone. My A&P added a teflon 'bushing' to the hole and 'wrapped' the tube which stopped the wear. 3 Quote

M20F-1968 Posted May 11 Report Posted May 11 The "sacrificial blocl" is made from bakelite type material and is quite abrasive in and of itself. When I rebuilt my plane I made new nylon blocks with DER signoff. Much less abrasive and have not had issues. John Breda 4 Quote
Hradec Posted May 11 Report Posted May 11 If you can't find a tube. I've heard of hangar elves buying tubing. Cut to length and carefully drill to match the old ujoints. Pleny of parts in the bkneyards but a lot have the same damage 2 Quote

Hradec Posted May 12 Report Posted May 12 You can either cut down a longer used tube if it is one of your shorter tubes that are damaged. I may have got the material spec from frank Crawford at mooney I'm not sure. I checked the places I order from and did not see it in my history. If I find it I will let you know. Search mooneyspace there may be some more info out there. If I recall ID of the tube is machined to a larger id just at the end fir the bushing and ujoint 1 Quote

How much they want now? Mine was a bit worn at annual but not terrible, so I am looking for options for the future. Quote
