Trim tube warn

Looking for a trim tube with part number 915026-009 for my 1976 M20F.  It’s -56 in the parts catalog figure.

I had to get one from Mooney a few years ago.  Call top gun msc and see about ordering one.

Did you add any reinforcement to the trim tube or some sort of a sleeve to the bulkhead?

There is supposed to be a “sacrificial block” where it goes through there, so yes, they put that in with the new one.  That damage is actually pretty common.  The newer models have some kind of a wrap on the tube and the “lining” in the hole.

Mine didn't have the block, but there was quite a bit of sacrificial speed tape on the old tube.

I was lucky to notice the wear on mine before the tube was too far gone.  My A&P added a teflon 'bushing' to the hole and 'wrapped' the tube which stopped the wear.

The "sacrificial blocl" is made from bakelite type material and is quite abrasive in and of itself.  When I rebuilt my plane I made new nylon blocks with DER signoff.  Much less abrasive and have not had issues.

If you can't find a tube. I've heard of hangar elves buying tubing. Cut to length and carefully drill to match the old ujoints. Pleny of parts in the bkneyards but a lot have the same damage
