AJ88V Posted December 16, 2024 Report Posted December 16, 2024 All kinds of delusions. Should probably just buy the Lasar STC. Currently listed on Barnstormers: https://www.barnstormers.com/adclick.php?type=featured_category_clicks&id=1949114&adtitle=1968-Mooney-M20C 1968 MOONEY M20C • $60,000 • AVAILABLE FOR SALE OR EXCHANGE • 1968 Mooney M20C for sale or trade. If trading, I would prefer a Cessna, or Piper. This aircraft is an experimental aircraft, because it doesn’t have the original engine in it. The engine is a Lycoming IO-360-A1A. I did a light top end overhaul on it, but still needs to be test run. Propeller needs to be overhauled. Airframe has around 4000 hours on it, according to logs. New tires and tubes. Has all Bendix King avionics. 1 Quote
Rwsavory Posted December 16, 2024 Report Posted December 16, 2024 "Experimental" is the new "Not Airworthy." And, what's a "light top overhaul?" 1 Quote
Slick Nick Posted December 16, 2024 Report Posted December 16, 2024 How come all of the photos are of the engine? Who cares? This guy needs to post some of the rest of the airplane, including the interior if he wants to sell. Quote
bigmo Posted December 16, 2024 Report Posted December 16, 2024 When one does that, is it not Experimental Exhibition? I bet there's a lot of devil in the details of the operating limitations. Quote

McMooney Posted December 16, 2024 Report Posted December 16, 2024 (edited) man that's something of a scary ad. light top overhaul ? experimental? my understanding you can put an io-360-a1a on that airframe all you want, nothing experimental about it. maybe it's a guy just not wanting to put a lot of work into his posting Edited December 16, 2024 by McMooney Quote
EricJ Posted December 16, 2024 Report Posted December 16, 2024 It could be done as a major modification with a 337, and I don't think it'd be the first time that somebody did that. A records/logbook check would show whether it was really just a modification or somebody actually put it in experimental temporarily for some reason. The description is a bit suspicious, for sure.
