StevenV Posted January 17, 2024 Report Posted January 17, 2024 Hello everyone, I'm having trouble finding a replacement fuel selector valve. The part number is 610289-007, My understanding is that its not rebuildable and I can't find one in stock. Wondering if anyone has one available? Thanks in advance. Quote
Echo Posted January 17, 2024 Report Posted January 17, 2024 I have one for a K model I would sell. Quote
StevenV Posted January 18, 2024 Author Report Posted January 18, 2024 Thanks for the reply. My understanding is that the 610289-007 and 610289-003 would work for my particular serial number 24-0737. Do you know the serial number for the part you have? Thank you. Quote
PT20J Posted January 18, 2024 Report Posted January 18, 2024 You might call Don or Paul Maxwell and see what they say. They still fix stuff instead of just replacing parts. https://www.donmaxwell.com/ Quote

StevenV Posted January 23, 2024 Author Report Posted January 23, 2024 Thanks everyone for the help. I did speak to Don Maxwell, LASAR and Top Gun. Apparently this particular valve made by Airight cannot be rebuilt. The company went out of business during covid and the factory doesn’t have any in stock. There are only 2 models that will work the 610289-007 and -003. So not sure what I’m gonna do at this point. Quote
Rwsavory Posted January 23, 2024 Report Posted January 23, 2024 Maybe something worth looking into with a willing A&P: Quote
PT20J Posted January 23, 2024 Report Posted January 23, 2024 According to the IPC Note 7: 610289-007 SAME AS 610289-003 EXCEPT HANDLE (POINTER) (KNOB) IS DELETED. Quote

If the plumbing is reasonably compatible with other units, you can install a similar system and get a field approval, especially if it is a unit used in other Mooneys. Even if the plumbing isn't compatible, new fuel lines can be made to make it work. Since your unit is an orphan, it sounds like replacing it with something that still has parts support would be a good idea. 1 Quote
