 I found a Mooney in a field and bought it for $8,000. It’s a work in progress and this is the beginning!

Don’t forget to remove the interior and inspect the steel cage around the cabin.    If it has the old insulation you’ll want to replace that.  This will also give you a chance to do lots of cleaning which I am sure is warranted.

I hope it turns out well. It's great to see it being saved rather than used for parts. Keep in mind that although it's expensive to fix everything while it's apart, it's much more expensive to take things apart multiple times.

I’m no expert, but that wing damage (mostly from the repair itself) does not look good.

 Lots of pop rivets drilled where they definitely shouldn’t be

 I wonder if the fuel leaks are not the tanks but the lines or fuel senders.
