Mooney901 Posted June 19, 2023 Report Posted June 19, 2023 I found a Mooney in a field and bought it for $8,000. It’s a work in progress and this is the beginning! 7
Hank Posted June 19, 2023 Report Posted June 19, 2023 Howdy, neighbor! Looks like you've got yourself a project! I'll be watching to see how this comes along, but I must admit, I'm surprised already! Best wishes, and hope to see you around one day. 2 1
Utah20Gflyer Posted June 21, 2023 Report Posted June 21, 2023 Don’t forget to remove the interior and inspect the steel cage around the cabin. If it has the old insulation you’ll want to replace that. This will also give you a chance to do lots of cleaning which I am sure is warranted. 1
Mooneyintn Posted June 21, 2023 Report Posted June 21, 2023 If you decide you want to sell let me know 1
TNIndy Posted June 23, 2023 Report Posted June 23, 2023 I hope it turns out well. It's great to see it being saved rather than used for parts. Keep in mind that although it's expensive to fix everything while it's apart, it's much more expensive to take things apart multiple times. 1
ragedracer1977 Posted June 23, 2023 Report Posted June 23, 2023 I’m no expert, but that wing damage (mostly from the repair itself) does not look good. Lots of pop rivets drilled where they definitely shouldn’t be
Captain Caveman Posted August 13, 2023 Report Posted August 13, 2023 Great find! Please post any follow up videos! Good luck with your project. 1
Pinecone Posted August 22, 2023 Report Posted August 22, 2023 I wonder if the fuel leaks are not the tanks but the lines or fuel senders.
