Our planes were originally equipped with a handheld microphone; mine still has the clip on the left between window and windshield, and is a perfect fit for a AA Maglite. Check your favorite aircraft supply catalog. I need to replace the one on my right yoke, which of course is different--it has a stretchy telephone-type cord to allow for yoke movement. It works, but the rubber is badly degraded.
