Boilermonkey Posted November 12, 2022 Report Posted November 12, 2022 Does anyone know the bulb type that is in the WING aft position light? Figure 33-5 i nthe SM describes it, but I can't find the part number and I don't think it is the standard W1290 that is used in the other part of the wing lights and tail. - Quote

kortopates Posted November 14, 2022 Report Posted November 14, 2022 I wouldn’t replace the rear white wingtiplights. If you do, and have LED’s for Nav lights, you’ll find that the gear down light becomes always dimmed (without Nav lights on) and will have to correct that or not be able to see you gear down light in daytime.I have only had to change one rear wing tip bulb in well over 20 years of ownership. Frankly IMO it’s not worth replacing them with LEDs and then needing to install a relay to correct the always dimmed gear down light. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Quote

Everything is dim but if you know where to install the relay I would love to know the fix. Quote
tls pilot Posted November 18, 2022 Report Posted November 18, 2022 did the LED lights work for this aft wing lamp? Quote
Boilermonkey Posted November 20, 2022 Author Report Posted November 20, 2022 Looks like they will, but when I took the cover off the old bulb has a clip with safety wire on it holding the bulb in place and some silicon glue holding the glass cover in place. Since I had neither silicon glue of thin safety wire I had to abort today. I'll try again later. Quote
Boilermonkey Posted August 7, 2023 Author Report Posted August 7, 2023 Does anyone know the original halogen bulb wattage or part number? I replaced with the LEDs that someone suggested, but now get static on the radios. Quote

There is at least one topic around here discussing the possibility that you may need to replace the receptacle when you replace the lamp. Quote
Boilermonkey Posted August 29, 2023 Author Report Posted August 29, 2023 Thanks, I replaced the LED that were recommended on MS, but gave me static on the radios. Went back to the halogens and everything went back to normal. 1 Quote
