Sorry to hear that.

I agree, but think about it, average guy out to get his drug money knows nothing about airports or airplanes, would have no idea what’s what in you panel, much less how to sell it, even if they could figure out how to remove it.

The ones that I’ve heard about that were caught all had aviation backgrounds, often maintenance

Good afternoon, DKB Tenants, et al!

Today we received an update that around 4am at Chicago Executive (PWK), aircraft hangars experienced forced entry, and electronics were stolen from hangared aircraft, as well as aircraft tied-down on the ramp. Similar criminal activity has also occurred in recent weeks between 2 and 4am at Lansing (IGQ), Poplar Grove (C77), Morris (C09), and Chicago DuPage (DPA). Various security cameras have captured images of a silver Land Rover SUV and two to three individuals wearing hooded sweatshirts, masks and gloves; please see photos below.

DeKalb Police have been updated and night shift officers have added extra patrols, especially early morning, as staffing allows. Please call non-emergency DPD, 815.748.8400, if you notice suspicious activity or a similar vehicle around DKB, and they will send a patrol to intercept the vehicle to investigate.

We will be staging vehicles displaying “SECURITY” placards overnight around the airfield as timing/staffing/availability allow in an attempt to help deter criminal activity.

Thank you for continued vigilance!
