hais Posted June 29, 2022 Report Posted June 29, 2022 Looking for these light switch covers for an Ovation. Any ideas where to source? I have a shop that quoted $500 a piece, so checking for alternatives. Quote
LANCECASPER Posted June 29, 2022 Report Posted June 29, 2022 I would see if someone could 3D print them. Or try a local trophy company that does engraving and see if they could make something for your "boat". 2 Quote
AH-1 Cobra Pilot Posted June 29, 2022 Report Posted June 29, 2022 The shape is very simple; you could cut it from a plastic sheet, rather than 3-D printing it. Paint it, then laser etch the graphics. 1 Quote
mooniac15u Posted June 29, 2022 Report Posted June 29, 2022 That doesn't look like an item that should get a lot of stress. Did it break from regular use or did something specific happen to break it? You might try gluing it with a little reinforcement on the back. Quote
jaylw314 Posted June 29, 2022 Report Posted June 29, 2022 Why not just fabricate it from some 1/8" aluminum sheet? Most shops have some scraps, and it'll never break. 1 Quote

My cover in the back cracked the same way, I put it back glued it tightly you’d have to look hard to find the scratch. I haven’t had anyone in the back seat so I have no clue why it cracked. Mine was actually on the armrest where the headset plugs in. Quote
hypertech Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 I have that one broken in the same place and probably one or two others but you can't tell unless you take them out. Whatever that material is, it seems to crack. Fabricating replacements is on the someday list. I would build my own CNC before I would drop $500 on that. 1 Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 I could make that with hand tools in about 1/2 hour. I could get it silk screened for about $50. I could get Brice to make a vinyl sticker for less. Quote
MooneyP87 Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 If you can send me specific dimensions, I can model and 3d print one for you. Although I don't have a way to etch, I wouldn't mind modeling and printing it. 1 Quote

glenn reynolds Posted July 9, 2022 Report Posted July 9, 2022 Acetone should glue that back together again Quote
