Good evening all,

I am about to take delivery on my first airplane, a 1979 231. I am setting up the profile in ForeFlight, and am wondering how some of you 231 owners have set yours. Particularly as regarding airspeed and fuel flow for climb, cruise and descent.

 Thank you,

Torrey

I think I may have changed the Start & Taxi Fuel a bit, but otherwise I left it as is (often long delays for departure at my home airport).

But I don't usually fly at Gross Weight and don't usually fly Max Distant legs.  So on long trips I'll depart with full fuel and fly 4+hour legs and land with plenty of fuel.  So the standard FF Profile is pretty close for my flight planning.  And since I don't push the distance, I'm not worried if I'm a bit off with my fuel flow vs. what they estimated.

Torrey,

If you search the topic…

You may find how a few other people have gone through the same challenge…

Some people like the engineering exactness…

Others don’t find it as valuable…

Real weather conditions will alter the results more easily than you can account for them…

PP thoughts only, not a CFI…

Best regards,
