HIghpockets Posted January 31, 2022 Report Posted January 31, 2022 31E (Eagles Nest) Stafford NJ is closed to due vast amounts of snowfall My mechanic is located there and until Mother Nature accommodates the airfield will remain closed and my A&P will remain inaccessible. I'd like to hear recommendations for reliable service in the eastern PA/NJ region. I am need of an oil change and my flap switch is inop (although it may be frozen). Thanks. Quote
Danb Posted January 31, 2022 Report Posted January 31, 2022 Weber, Lancaster Pa, excellent MSC, have done majority of maintenance on my Bravo. 1 Quote

I've used the shop on my field (N57 New Garden Flying Field) for the last two annuals (was using MSCs before that). The shop does a decent job and I haven't had a reason to not use them next year. They can handle the stuff you are looking to have done. 1 Quote

Most likely not your flap switch. It's usually the flap relay. https://mooneyspace.com/search/?&q="flap relay"&quick=1&search_and_or=or&sortby=relevancy 1 Quote
PeteMc Posted February 1, 2022 Report Posted February 1, 2022 Highly recommend Air Mods at Robbinsville, NJ. Technically Trenton-Robbinsville Airport N87 when you go to look it up. They're a MSC and listed on Mooney's site. Talk to Dave Mathiesen 609-259-6877 or 609-259-2400 2 Quote

carusoam Posted February 18, 2022 Report Posted February 18, 2022 Great follow-up Hp! If we had a scoring system for MSers with the most helpful posts… Lance would be in the group at the top! -a- 1 Quote
HIghpockets Posted February 18, 2022 Author Report Posted February 18, 2022 Here's a video of the repaired assembly. My J is a 1988 model. Apparently higher serial numbers have a different set up. Flapswitch.mov 1 Quote

But stick to MSCs for annuals and bigger work. Dave does all my annuals (N87 is 20min away from me - I'm sure Weber is great too). Avionics is Todd at Lancaster - very happy with their service and work - scheduled for more in June. Edited February 18, 2022 by pwnel 1 Quote
