N231BN Posted January 15, 2022 Report Posted January 15, 2022 Of course the were it says GTN750 is greyed out for port number notes([1] [2]) That statement only applies to a configuration where the GI-275 is a backup to a G500 or other EFIS. 1 Quote

But the GPS remained in GPS Mode. Hi, Sorry to make a slight course direction here....but I was wondering...as I also am probably going to get the GTN750Xi. I see you have the same A/P as me (the KAP150)...and mentioned that you were able to capture the GS on the ILS and the A/P flew itself down. Just confirm for me...the KAP150 cannot fly the GS by itself as far as I know...so how is it able to fly it down with the GTN? Forgive my ignorance Quote

Forgive my ignorance My GI-275 and GTN750xi will fly a ILS glide slope as well as GPS full approaches with procedure turns, DME Arcs etc and Glideslopes. I would assume it do the same with a King HSI but not sure. In this image the KAP150 AP is flying the GPS glide slope in Approach Mode in HYW. It does not fly descents from say one way point to another as far as i can tell like the Garmin AP will, 1 Quote

Forgive my ignorance The KAP150 computer gets pitch and roll from the KG 258, heading and course select from the KI 525, and VOR/LOC/GS from the nav receiver. A newer system interfaced with the KAP 150 must supply these same inputs and allow selection of GPS as a nav source. GPSS adds the ability to use roll steering commands from the GPS (via the KAP 150 HDG input) so the autopilot can fly holding patterns, procedure turns, DME arcs and such. Quote
