Not sure where to start, but after a 30 year hiatus, I’m getting back into the air. I sold my Cherokee 140 back in 1991 and haven’t flown since. After the plane, I did the boat thing and the motorcycle thing and always knew I’d get back to flying someday. Well, someday is here. I’ve gotten my paper ticket exchanged for a shiny plastic one and am now refilling my head with all of that lost knowledge. Heck, what happened to TCA’s? LOL A lot has changed in the airspace, but I’m glad to see so many panels still sporting KX-155’s. I guess some things never change.

So, why am I here? Mooney fever. It was during college in the eighties that I drooled over the AOPA magazines and the stories of the 231 and the 252 when it came out. I always knew someday, I would have my own Mooney. Maybe that will happen, but I’ve still got a ways to go before getting back in the left seat and rolling down the runway again. In the meantime, if anyone would like to whet my appetite and fan the Mooney flames, I live NW of Atlanta and would love a chance to check out your Moonship. I’m closest to Cherokee County and Cartersville airports. Hit me up if you’re coming this way and I’ll meet you and take you to lunch.

Thanks for reading and I hope to learn lots from y’all.

Welcome back Round Two…

No need to wait… jump right in.

You are about to find out how easy the flying memories come back.

You might eve surprise yourself of how much of the memories come flooding back… with other memories from the 90s…

You aren’t the only one going through this…

So…. AOPA has set up a program for people in a similar situation, called Rusty Pilots… :)

You have come to the right place…

Speaking of memories to get back….   Do you have your instrument rating?

If no… great time to work on a cool project while getting flying again…

If yes… great time to warm those skills while getting flying again…

Ask some questions right now… :)

PP thoughts only, not a CFI…

Best regards,

-a-

Thanks! Yes, I’ve re-upped my AOPA membership and have already gone through much of their program, and yes, a lot of the knowledge was still there.

I was VFR as budget didn’t exist for IFR gear.
