The last few of times that I have flown I have noticed something a little off when I do my run up. When I check my flight controls the yoke seems to stick for a moment when I pull it back. It takes quite a bit of force to make it break free, after which it is fine. It does not bind up on the preflight when the elevator is manually moved up and down, or when the electric trim is run up and down. On a couple of occasions I would test it right when I got to the hanger and it was fine but would be stuck by the time I did my run up. I plan on trouble shooting the A/P to see if it could be a part of the problem.

I have looked in the tail cone and up in the foot wells but I cannot see anything that would be causing it to bind. Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

Needs lubrication, specially at the tail spring rods. Clean first the rods with contact cleaner and then lubricate them. If the airplane is left outside they need to be cleaned and lubricated more often.

Lubrication is what originaly crossed my mind. The part that confused me is that it will be OK in the hanger and 10 minutes later it will stick on run up. I'll give both of these points a try and cross my fingers. Thanks for the help.

You mention A/P. do you turn the A/P on while on the ground? The force you feel is probably the effort to overcome the A/P. Once it disconnects then everything is fine.
