The aircraft TYPE by definition is M20P for: M20,A,B,C,D,E,F,G,J,L,R,S, Mark21 ,Ranger, Master, Chaparral, Executive, STATESMAN, OVATION, and of course 201,205,ATS,MSE,PFM.

When ATC asks for type they want to gauge relative speeds. M20P is what they and their systems understand as "type".  Just telling them Mooney or Mooney 201 etc doesn't help them. Not all ATC personnel fly or know about different airctaft.

All the same as your previous list...just marketing names.

Hey....where's the Super 21...???

1967 E's were marketed as Super 21's.  Not sure what year they started/ended the Super 21 name and went with Chaparral instead.

depends....

M20,A,B,C,D,E,F,G,J,L,R,S, is a list of aircraft models

and so is this one, but with more of a marketing sound to it :

Mark21 ,Ranger, Master, Chaparral, Executive, STATESMAN, OVATION, and of course 201,205,ATS,MSE,PFM.

so in a way, one is the previous of the other but indeed, Mooney was making the marketing and selling, not youWinkTongue out

They want Mike Twenty Tango (or Papa), and I always say "slant Golf (or whatever nav equip you have)" because that is their next question - "say equipment."

If you roll right through it, "Mike Twenty Tango slant Golf One Sierra Papa" it takes less than two seconds to say with the "slant Golf" in it.
