ArtVandelay Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 (edited) I think I like to have this SI done at next annual. Where do I get the kit (Mooney factory, Lasar)? There is a compliance card that needs to be returned, since this is optional, what’s the reason for that? Anyone done this? Edited July 28, 2020 by ArtVandelay Title Quote
RLCarter Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 Who do you return it to now that Mooney is closed again? Quote
carusoam Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 The factory is not completely closed if Stacey Ellis still answers the phone... Stacey helped keep the doors open after the last financial downturn... Best regards, -a- Quote
Igor_U Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 I see SB is written in 1994. I think we all lost track how many entities owned Mooney (M20) since then. What would happen if you don't sent the card, loose a warranty? Quote
carusoam Posted July 28, 2020 Report Posted July 28, 2020 The cards were a method of tracking current owner addresses... You would get POH updates if available... and other document things.... like AD notices... Matching FAA and Mooney records, then sending a mailer to the owner... In reality, you hear about it on MS first, then the unwanted news comes in the mail about two weeks later... kind of an oddity of the old paper systems... Best regards, -a- Quote

Were you thinking of a different SB? https://cdn2.hubspot.net/hubfs/4147179/technical_documents/service_bulletins/sbm20-88b.pdf Clarence Edited July 28, 2020 by M20Doc Quote

Does seem confusing to use same numbers for bulletins and instructions? Here is a link: http://www.mooneypilots.com/service/M20_325_88A.pdf From above: Edited July 28, 2020 by ArtVandelay Quote

I thought it was good safety of flight issue to address after Amelia's experience. I ordered mine from LASAR. We haven't been able to order parts directly from the factory in years, just through MSC's. 1 Quote
ArtVandelay Posted September 10, 2020 Author Report Posted September 10, 2020 Just to close this thread, I called LASAR to order this, wait for it..... only $1900! Needless to say, won’t be doing that. 1 Quote
Missile=Awesome Posted September 10, 2020 Report Posted September 10, 2020 The “condition” says that manual movement of trim will get it “off the stop” and electric trim can then again be used. What am I missing? P.S. why would anyone run their trim to either stop? That seems like bad airmanship to me... Quote

I had this happen after maintenance (rudder/elevator), I think the mechanic test ran the trim to the limits. Quote
