Planegary Posted September 26, 2019 Report Posted September 26, 2019 am gonna have some time to do detail work on my plane due to a nose truss repair (dont ask) and i saw a while back about rubber seals bought at lowes to get away from the gummy kids stuff. i couldnt fond the info by looking at past threads so could somebody direct me to the info ? thanks in advance
moodychief Posted September 26, 2019 Report Posted September 26, 2019 I went to O’Reilly’s Auto and bought one inch white seal strip used between camper shells and truck bed. After laying it on I pierced where the screw holes are with a small sharp punch.
Planegary Posted September 27, 2019 Author Report Posted September 27, 2019 Thanks for the info. I remember seeing someone here that had gotten a rubber gasket of some kind from Lowe’s but if I don’t come across that info then to oreilleys aviation dept it is

Planegary Posted September 27, 2019 Author Report Posted September 27, 2019 Yes. Have used them several times
Planegary Posted September 27, 2019 Author Report Posted September 27, 2019 Just useless info..... did you know that the vr24 voltage regulator off of a 1960 mercury Montclair is the same as on the Mooney ? I was totally amazed 1
RobertGary1 Posted September 27, 2019 Report Posted September 27, 2019 I bought seals from Mooney and they seem to be holding for the last 10 years. Just make sure you don't get anything sticky because these panels come off at least every annual. -Robert
